Terry Fontenot

It's just so weird.

Terry Fontenot was in his bag that night.

Do you

believe he is or is going to be on the level of the guys that he was drafted in the top seven, eight with? Caleb Williams and Drake May.

team building within the margins, right? Kate and Ellis, you brought him in.

He was a, Chief free agent, he was one of Terry Fontenot's, you know, hits in free agency.

He was a very good pro personnel guy.

Caden Ellis gave you what he gave you.

Hold on, though.

You're the author of the take when Terry Fontenot drafted Michael Penix Jr., saying...

Dominique was a staunch defender of it saying, if you get your quarterback of the future, it's the right pick.

Right.

If you draft that tackle, that would make sense too.

Right.

So if we go back to the Terry Fontenot situation, we're talking about what happened in that situation is they needed a quarterback.

They signed Kirk Cousins.

When Kyle was here, Thomas Dimitrov was still here.

But then Kyle, or excuse me, then Thomas exited stage left, and we had Terry Fontenot, and now it's Ian Cunningham.

So you see the lack of stability here.

Meanwhile, it's been Shanahan and John Lynch in San Francisco just churning it out every year.

Totally, he got a raw deal there, because he screwed up the team.

Terry Fontenot, their GM, signing Kirk Cousins, and then like, "Yeah, but I also like Michael Penix, too." It was weird.

But I also think that Raheem Morris, I would be very surprised.

He's doing a great job now.

They have eight draft picks a year ago.

They haven't traded any 'cause Terry Fontenot's out the door.

They have a first, a second, a third, a fourth, multiple comp- compensatory picks.

And you ready for this? If Michael Penix is the guy, the Falcons have $114 million to spend under the salary cap, and it looks like in Bryan Johnston, one of the savviest cap guys in the league, who came from the Howie Roseman tree- Yes ...
