Tepetzintla

By the time I managed to change the tire, the sky had taken on that deep violet color that warns you night is about to fall all at once.

I decided to take the shortcut across the Tankochapa suspension bridge to reach Tepetzintla before ten.

It was a mistake.

The road down to the river was a steep slope of packed earth and loose gravel.

I dropped my shoe.

Do not go looking for that place.

If you are traveling through Veracruz and your GPS sends you along a secondary route near Tepetzintla at night, turn around.

It does not matter how much time you lose.
