[upbeat music] Let's take a look at today's big number, $6.2 billion.

That's the latest valuation of AI chip startup Tenstorrent after raising $1.5 billion.

The Nvidia challenger has more than doubled what it was worth just two years ago.

Bloomberg's Deanna Baker broke the story and joins us now.

So, so there, there, there are several, like, fast inference platforms.

There's lots of chip startups out there, like, looking at their, their options.

What is it that Tenstorrent does? Like, what, what would it say is unique about it?

Sure.

His boss for a stretch? Jim Keller, the architect behind AMD's Zen chips and Apple's early iPhone silicon.

In 2016, Bajic founded an AI chip startup called Tenstorrent.

Keller liked him enough to write an angel check when the company was working out of a basement.

Keller's reason, in a 2021 interview, he actually understands the math behind AI, which, quote, is a somewhat rare combination.

Nvitop is the standout, and I want to give it credit properly.

Version three-point-three-two supports AMD, Apple, Huawei Ascend, Intel, Nvidia, Qualcomm Adreno, Broadcom VideoCore, Rockchip, Meta X, Inflame, Tenstorrent, Illuvitar, CoreX.

That’s a remarkable list.

And it plots GPU and memory utilization, temperature, power, clocks, and PCIe receive and transmit load.
