Tennessee Lady Volunteers volleyball

We watched both of Texas' games this week.

They, uh, reverse swept Tennessee in Tennessee, and then they got swept by Kentucky.

There were a few people online who scoffed at us for saying Texas might not be in the top three.

Which is fine-

Yeah, they did, and I expected them to go 0 and 2.

100% agree.

Like, good for them for, like, pulling it out against Tennessee.

Well, Stafford carried them against Tennessee.

Those are the top three highly rated teams, highest rated teams from the SEC.

Tennessee Volleyball, Lady Vols, Carolyn Kerr, yet another Setter of the Week award.

It's the second time as co-setter of the week this week that she's been honored by the SEC this year.

It's the eighth time in her legendary Lady Vols career.

I said it.

And Colorado lost to Colorado State, so that also happened, but I would, I wanna say probably the two most interesting matches for me were Tennessee-Penn State and Kentucky-Louisville.

Where do you wanna start?

I think Tennessee is gonna cause some disruption in the SEC.

They're starting off playing Texas, which I don't know if Texas will beat them.

My money's on Tennessee.

Oh, yeah, I agree.

So Indiana 5-2 overall.

They've won three straight games, and their only two losses so far in the season are against Louisville, who's third in the nation right now, and Tennessee, who's 16th.

And of course, Indiana had that big win against Texas A&M, who was ranked 15th right now.

So as they build towards their next big match, against North Carolina State, this is a good spot for volleyball to be in.

Ohio State and Indiana have been clearly the two best teams in the conference so far based on efficiency.

Then you have a cluster of Penn State, Nebraska, and USC, who you can see kind of in that next echelon.

Not quite as good, but roughly as good as, say, Tennessee or Florida or BYU.

And then you get the outliers.

Again, talked about those home/road splits.

Traveling to Knoxville on Friday to take on number 19 Tennessee, and then heading to Lexington, which is one of the weirdest places on the face of the planet to play anything, to play number three Kentucky on Sunday.

Number 16 soccer unfortunately opened SEC play with a 3-1 loss to Arkansas.

Arkansas got up early, um, scoring three times in the first 34 minutes, and then Texas just could not put, uh, enough in the back of the net to overcome that early lo- that early deficit.

I still feel very good about this team.

Um, hopefully that will lead to them being real salty and, uh, and go- getting back home and getting back on the, the right side of the win column.

So they've got, uh, Tennessee at home over the weekend on Friday, so hopefully they can get that one.

Uh, but it is a ranked match-up.

Friday they will play at Texas.

Lady Vols Volleyball.

They are now 6-1 after sweeping Coastal Carolina Saturday afternoon.

They'll be tomorrow in North Carolina to take on Queens.

[laughs] ACC going three and four on Tuesday, and then three and six on Wednesday to go 6-10 throughout the challenge, obviously the SEC winning.

Some things to note: Pitt swept Tennessee, hitting an efficient 352 across the match to hand the Vols their first loss of the season.

Uh, Louisville handled Missouri in four sets, three Cardinals having double digit kill outings.

Chloe Shipcoin leading the way with 22 kills, followed by Kalyssa Blackshear's 20, and Chloe Meester's 14.

Get ready now for conference action.

Tennessee Volleyball, 5-0.

Last week beat two Big Ten teams.

And this one came yesterday, or I should say their last two matches were victories against Big Ten teams.

tie between the two schools and their seven games that they've met in their respective histories.

Tennessee Volleyball, after a win earlier this week against Illinois in an SEC Big Ten challenge, will take on another Big Ten school.

And this is going to be number 22 Tennessee Sunday at 3 o'clock Eastern against number 21 Indiana.

So the Lady Vols are 4-0, Indiana 2-1 as the Lady Vols and the Hoosiers square off in Nashville.
