Ten Lost Tribes

In today's study, Chuck continues his teaching on the book of Malachi, chapter 1.

But let's just hit the biblical basis for these schemes, the ten lost tribes.

It's a misconception of misreading passages.

You see, before the Assyrian captivity, even before the Assyrians captured the northern kingdom, many of those tribes had migrated southward to show loyalty to the house of David.

And therefore, telling Moshe, you write out this song, teach it to the children of Israel, put it in their mouths, that this song may be a witness for me against the B'nai Israel, against the children of Israel, as we know, and as we still are, That includes what's now called, was then the mixed multitude, now the twin kingdoms, the two kingdoms, northern and southern, Ahola and Aholaba, Israel and Judah or Judea.

The ten lost tribes, lots of names for them, Ephraim and Judah sometimes.

But bottom line is, it fits in both cases.

Let me say that again.

The song of Moses as a witness against us fits in both cases.

In other words, the kingdom of Judah in the south, the kingdom of, the Ten Lost Tribes, Israel in the north, and, of course, as I refer to it, the descendants of those things, pretty clearly, the Whore Church, the descendants of the Ten Lost Tribes, and the Whore Synagogue, the descendants of the southern kingdom, both of which, as we know, went into idolatry, were exiled, and still are.

So this witness is where we start.

I read the first bit last night, and I quit about the place where it starts to say, hey, look, It's idolatry that's the problem.

It is a remembered connection.

Latter-day Saints have the same real connection and descent from the lost tribes of Israel, but we don't have the paper trail.

For us, rather than a remembered heritage, it is a restored heritage, but it is just as valid.

We carry two names in the church.

Which, again, coming back to Isaiah, is why Isaiah is so important.

It's the thing that lets us know.

I'm so glad you're talking about this because when I was really young, I remember people wondering where the lost tribes were and when they were going to come forth.

Why would a stone with Hebrew writing be buried in a Native American mound? After years of research, a possible connection began to emerge.

I hope looking at it with a 3D microscope will help determine if the stone is an ancient relic of the Lost Tribes of Israel or something else.

Before my re-examination, I'm meeting with Leslie Kalin again to see what she knows about this mysterious artifact and any connections between the lost tribes of Israel and the Native American site where the stone was found.

Now that may seem strange or potentially heretical to many of you listening.

because many of you are under the impression that the Aser HaShavatim, the ten lost tribes, will eventually be reunited with the Jewish people.

And in fact, this is actually a debate in the Gemara.

There are those that say that they are lost forever, and there are others, though, that say that they will eventually be reunited.

And it seems that if you look around Jewish society for many, many, many generations going back long, hundreds if not over a thousand years, it seems to be that the Jewish world has accepted the position that the Aseres Hashvatim, the Ten Lost Tribes, will eventually be returned.

So this would not work so well with the simple way of understanding the Radak.

Another way to understand this explanation, though, is not that they are lost forever, but their independent sovereignty is lost forever.

The world, like a child, has readily, and for the most part unhesitatingly, accepted the tale of the island of Atlantis.

Remember, this is Moshe speaking to the mixed multitude.

not just so-called Jews, not just the people who do not know their heritage, i.e. the ten lost tribes which have been scattered, as have the other tribes as well, Judah and Benjamin and Levi.

So it's interesting, and this is the thing I always point out right up front, is when it says hayom, that word repeats here over and over and over again, and it didn't say you are standing that day, or it didn't use the past tense, It's kind of like what I refer to, and this is a Rashiism, pure and simple.

Rashi has made the point in his writings, so we can look at it and go, yeah, that makes perfect sense.

Hayom.

We have been cast out.

All of the nations, the ten lost tribes that were cast out first, and then kol Israel, the remainder that was primarily, again, the southern kingdom, Judah and Benjamin and some Levites, but all eventually, both northern and southern kingdoms, went into exile, and there they remain, until and still Hayom.

The secret things, this is how chapter 29 ends, the secret things belong unto Yehuarel, but the things that are revealed belong unto us and to our children forever, that we may do All the words of this Torah.

which you read about in Revelation 17, and then the rise of this Antichrist and this beast-based power structure wherein the saints are oppressed and the righteous are cut off and isolated from the global economy because they're not towing the line, which then brings in the next event, which is the restoration of the house of Israel.

There is a reason that the Tenth Article of Faith refers to these things as two separate events, the gathering of Israel and the restoration of the Lost Ten Tribes, a restoration event that we are told will rival the exodus of Egypt and that Isaiah speaks about as being a nation born in a single day.

These are incredible things that will then, according to Christ in his discourse to the Nephites in 3rd Nephi, will usher in the new Jerusalem.

The new Jerusalem is not going to be built by us on the front end, folks.
