Today, my guest is Professor Amihai Mazar of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, one of the leading archeologists of ancient Israel and a member of the editorial board of the European Hebrew Journal.

We will discuss volume five and, of course, all the volumes of, uh, Tel Rehov: A Bronze and Iron Age City in the Beit She'an Valley, which focuses on various objects and natural science studies from the excavations.

Professor Mazar, could you first introduce yourself and tell us about your main research interests?

Okay.

Uh, nine years at Tel Beit She'an.

Tel Beit She'an, the major mount in the Beit She'an Valley, very prominent one.

And then in nine- from 1997, I moved to another important site, a very large site, almost unknown before, Tel Rehov, about five kilometers south of Beit She'an in the Beit She'an Valley, both in the Jordan Valley, uh, where I excavated for 12 seasons until 2012.

This was my final field season.
