Teide

Both of them are metals.

Everest, the Pyrenees, and El Teide, mountain.

All of them are mountains.

Mountains.

Right behind us, we've got the Pico de Veleta.

Pico de Veleta is just, like, one of the highest, uh, mountains here in Spain, pro- for sure, one of the highest in the mainland of, uh, Spain, as we have El Teide in Tenerife, of, of course, which is the highest mountain of, uh, Spain.

But here in Andalusia, in Sierra Nevada, Pico Veleta is, like, the huge reference, yeah.

Yeah, it is the ceiling.

The strongest example is a figure named Guida.

In the old folklore of Tenerife, Guida was a wicked being who lived inside the Mount Teide volcano, and in one of the tales, stole the sun and locked it away, dropping the whole world into darkness.

A story about a stolen sun and a stolen day in a game whose entire crisis is a stolen day.

Borrowing that legend isn't just a random flourish.

It was a f- family trip to Tenerife when I was probably eight years old.

I remember driving up, um, towards Teide, this spectacular volcano, and I just remember the, the trees and the life and vegetation fading away and then seeing this kind of rubbly moonscape, and it really captured me that the, the idea that these were these kind of pipes and connections to, to Earth's underworld.
