but Norwich look like they're pretty free scoring the Millwall loss aside 2-1 against Cardiff 4-1 against Burnley 3-1 against Sheffield United and then last time out 2-1 against against Birmingham City and a middle of the side that we know are well stacked at the top end of the season we've yet to to see much of Kosier Dubu in their side after his deadline day move but uh a player that that can score from nothing we saw that at bolton last year so yeah i i'm gonna call this right now a game of the day and this is where it ends up being a no-no draw by the way but game of the day should be a humdinger at the riverside and one that should be a great advert for championship football i am actually gonna maybe book the the trend here i'm gonna go away win um i think norwich might win this uh two goals to one

Nice, I'm going to follow on from you in saying it's going to be an entertaining game and I'm going to go for a 3-2 Middlesbrough win and I think the only positive for Norwich fans of the game not being on TV is it would have been a really early kick-off and they'd have to travel all the way from Norfolk to Teesside and that's Not exactly an easy trip, so they're probably glad it's a 3pm kick-off.

But I do think Kim Helberg and co will get a 3-2 win.

So I think it's a case-by-case basis with the CCS landscape.

And then obviously you've got non-pipeline transport of CO2 as well on the rail, the navigator terminal up in Teesside are also looking at.

So I feel like it's quite hard to replicate each CCS project, not just by finance, but also by what's actually happening and how CCS is being delivered across each region, which is why it's exciting, isn't it, to talk about and interesting to see how it develops over the next few years?

So, we come to the part of the show where it is our guest choice of things that have called their eye this week.

DK, I'm sorry Chris McDonald has stole your bit as the King of Teesside, but do you have some news to usurp his crown?

Yeah, I just spotted yesterday that Bridget Philipson announced that we are going to abolish the Social Mobility Commission, which is a big and bold step.

So this is a creature of the conservative governments of previous years.

Maybe a week before, something like that, a few days before.

Yeah, there wasn't much between them, was it? And it was probably the lowest point of Burra's transfer window because the Teesside soul had been sucked out of the squad.

But since then, Ashley Phillips, a pretty good upgrade.

We spoke a lot about, you know, we discussed it there with goalkeepers.

Birmingham were offering him £40,000, £50,000 a week or whatever the figure was.

Obviously, in the end, it's all worked out with Ashley Phillips coming in.

I think it was just a tough pill for Borough fans to take, really, with a Teesside lad who'd been an ever-present for a decade, leaving in the sort of way he did.

But...

Kind of lived, born and brought up in Middlesbrough in the North East.

Still live here now and went to university in Teesside as well.

So never moved away or anything like that.

But Yeah, just had a very normal kind of job while I was at uni, did marketing and advertising and then worked previous, sorry, worked several marketing jobs following university for about 10 years in PR and comms.

We are gonna be doing, uh, Redcar this week.

So the early origins of, uh, Speedway up on Teesside were actually in nineteen twenty-eight at the opening of the Cleveland Park Stadium near Middlesbrough.

Um, as a team of local riders, they formed the first team league in nineteen twenty-nine, and they had adopted the Bears moniker by nineteen thirty-nine.

Uh, after the end of the Second World War, of course, as, as most people know, Speedway boomed as a massive spectator sport.

[laughing] Absolutely, yeah.

Over the, over the subsequent decades, they went-- underwent several rebrandings.

They did race as the Teesside Teessiders, the Teesside Tigers, and the Middlesbrough Tigers, and then before they reverted to their traditional name of the Bears, and they achieved another National League championship title in nineteen eighty-one.

It all came to an end unfortunately in Middlesbrough in nineteen ninety-six when Cleveland Park was closed and sold for redevelopment, and there was no Speedway up on Teesside for ten years until the birth of Redcar, and that was in two thousand and six at the South Tees Motorsports Park, which of course is their current home.

It's Sunderland.

[laughs] I'm already having to go to Teesside next weekend, so yeah.

Oh, yeah.

So what are your logistics plans for Great North Run? 'Cause I'm always quite interested in that 'cause it always seems like a bit of a nightmare.

Yeah, so it's, it's obviously really expensive as well to stay in both Newcastle and Sunderland the night before.

Okay.

Um, so my plan is basically I'm going, driving down to Teesside with a friend of mine.
