Teddy Daniels

It's from David Copperfield by Charles Dickens.

"'Whether I shall turn out to be the hero of my own life, or whether that station will be held by anybody else, these pages must show.'" I just love that opening line.

Here's another one I like.

This is from Zora Neale Hurston's Their Eyes Were Watching God.

Modesty is highly attractive.

In our story, to go on at length after the climax, receiving pats on the back and learning about rewards... isn't the modesty we expect.

Readers don't like a hero to be overly congratulated and basking in the sun at the end of an adventure too long.

And another reason, after a couple of pages of post-climax happiness, it gets boring.

I love this movie, Scooter.

He plays Teddy Daniels, 2010 rated R.

Basically, he and Mark Ruffalo, his partner, work for the federal government, and they're investigating this island where mentally unstable people are kept, you know, jailed, serial killers, people like that.

and they're sent to this mental institution to investigate a patient has disappeared, right? So they go.

So U.S.

Marshal Teddy Daniels and his partner, Chuck Olley, arrived to investigate this locked room mystery.

But immediately, everything feels entirely wrong.

The vibes are way off.

So Dennis Lehane also wrote Mystic River, which I didn't read, but that's a, another big book and big movie.

Shutter Island is about a U- US marshal named Teddy Daniels who is traveling to Shutter Island in Boston Harbor, where he is going to be investigating the disappearance of a patient at the hospital there.

So it is dangerous, mentally ill people who are at the hospital.

It's a very secure facility.

Yes.

So he's looking for Andrew Laeddis.

He's Teddy Daniels.

Uh, he's-

He is Jack Torrance, just in a yellow cab instead of a snowcat.

Or Teddy Daniels in Shutter Island.

Or Teddy Daniels in Shutter Island.

A man investigating an isolated storm-swept asylum, applying his logic as a US marshal.

Only to realize his own mind is the greatest labyrinth, and he is the monster he's looking for.

Uh-

He's g- which, which name do we wanna go by? H- he's introduced as Eddie, Teddy Daniels.

Yeah.

US Marshal.
