Ted Strickland

So the history of homestead, so for older adults, had both an economic and age piece.

Governor Strickland came in, got rid of the economic piece, and it was just age.

A whole bunch of older Ohioans were able to qualify and sign up.

Governor Kasich came in, had different budget challenges, and so he put that economic piece in.

So right now she's at our hope.

And for it to be a straight up toss up now, Ted Strickland was our last Democrat to be governor and he won in 06.

So, yeah, it's been a long time coming.

Now, when previous, so I'm guessing when previous elections for governor, we've never, whether she's up or down, I'm not so concerned about, but we've, I'm assuming you've never seen a Democrat and Republican in this type of race for the governorship.

So I was in charge of Justice Revivals, and one of the possible places to do that was for Vineyard Columbus to host it because Rich Nathan was so evangelistic, but also had just opened the community center and was just caring for so many Somali refugees.

I think it was Ted Strickland was the governor.

He just entered like... you know, the both and church, like you can, you can do, you can hold all this together.

And so this was like my first meeting ever with a mega church pastor.
