Ted Roof

That's almost a 10 point difference between the defense and this year and the defense last year.

Is that the difference between Ted Roof and Tim Lewis, the defensive coordinators? It very well could be.

Or I think more so that they've done a pretty good job of bringing in some talent here, both as in freshmen, both as in transfers as well.

I mean, just this last week, you saw Cameron McGee, Gavin Neal playing.

Mm-hmm.

I've known this guy for over 40 years Ted Roof was the DC at Auburn in 2010.

They had Cam.

And Tim Beck is one of those people w- for offensive coordinator that gets jobs, and gets jobs, and gets jobs.

And, and Chuck, we've talked about Ted Roof.

Ted Roof is, by all accounts, a wonderful man, and has been defensive coordinator at, like, 13 schools, and it, it never works.

No matter how many places hire him, no matter what the level of talent is he works with, it never turns out very well for very long when you hire Ted Roof as your DC, and he keeps getting jobs.

I wish the resume was different.

I cannot argue.

Tim Beck is the football offensive equivalent of Ted Roof.

Everywhere he goes, and he has worked at some great places, things tend to turn out very unimpressively.

Yannick Smith is averaging 22 yards per catch, and they have a running game.

So you're not gonna beat this team straight up, but this is why you brought Ted Roof in here as Boston College defensive co- Boston College's defensive coordinator.

He wants a ball-hawking defense.

He's proven that this is a defense that can do it, and it, and it benefits to be gambling for that football, even at his detriment sometimes.

I believe they're at, opponents have 30, they're, they're converting 37% of their third downs.

So you wanna give this defense as much field as possible.

Yeah, sometimes they've been more bend do- bend, don't break, even that aggressive Ted Roof defense.

But you gotta pin teams as far back as possible.

So that's kind of been what they've been doing in terms of their offense.

Ted Roof, that's kind of what they're hoping for.

You've got KP Price, their safety.

He has two interceptions.

You know, KP Price was the one guy that stayed, like the really talented player, and he has had a really strong start to his season.

He's played, uh, nickel, he's played safety, he can play linebacker.

And for Ted Roof, a, a, a defensive coach, uh, that loves to have versatility with his guys, he has been really po- a really big guy.

So yeah, if things go right, if they can get into Kevin Jennings' grill and kind of force him off his game a little bit, they'll, they, I could see it transferring, but I also am curious to see kind of how this all kind of plays out because The, you know, I have not seen enough out of this defense to think that they're gonna be able to stop a team like this.
