Ted Leo

On the UK tour, we had Chris Murphy from Sloan.

Last year, for a short run, we had Ted Leo.

For some reason, that's been the hardest one to kind of...

We all have crazy schedules.

And we had just done Fest.

And we did Ted Leo dates in Texas.

And then we're going across.

And we did White Cross's first run up through the West Coast.

The band formed at University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana, put out, I don't know, two, three albums, something like that, and then Ted went solo, and you know him from The Pharmacist, at least that's how I know him.

I was listening to Ted Leo the other day and thinking, oh man, these are the songs I really like, and realized I had no chisel in my library, so I went out and picked up that one, and there are a few more that I should be getting, I guess, but this one is just wonderful.

Before that, we heard from the Speedways with the song Angela Sincerely.

That one features Paul Collins, his vocals, and he has a writing credit on that one.

He and I wash dishes at the same restaurant a couple times.

Um, another friend of mine's a drummer for Ted Leo now, uh, kind of poppy East coast.

Um, I don't know, pretty popular.

Um, someone there, the guys, the guy, the main singer from Lucero, he was in this punk band called red 40, which was very like jawbreaker ish.

although the artist has never confirmed ELO as a direct inspiration.

yeah uh just it was it was a gut punch to wake up to see those news because like you know i went to bed saturday night uh saw it i'm just like immediately like oh this is breaking pulling form and then wake up in the morning they've confirmed it and then it just it hurts yeah my heart is out to the family and friends and bandmates and all the wonderful people in his life uh The other thing I want to talk about is heading into the weekend.

I saw a post from American opposition online putting a call out to put their election slogan on for this upcoming midterm elections via Ted Leo.

Wow.

I saw that immediately.

chest means hope.

So it's a Ted Leo shirt,

but yeah, I hope I'm going to get something from that Kickstarter

nine years ago.

Oh, boy.
