And when the opportunity opened up for Mary Beth to move into mentoring, which I just have to say is something Mary Beth is very gifted at.

So it was like the perfect job for her.

I was asked to step in as team lead of cataloging and metadata services.

So I've been doing that for about a year now.

You do.

Um, and I think that's where a lot of teams fail is because the team leader tells them, "Hey, you go do this.

I'm gonna do something totally different that I'm, I'm too good to do this now." And you know, certainly that, that makes sense based on how your team's structured.

I don't wanna say it's not, but-

Um, I mean, I-

That's what I'm hearing from experience talking to all these team leaders.

It took them three to seven years.

It can be a lengthy process and it can be quite a short process.

depending on the type of contact we've got from the referrer and on the referral but I guess sort of like what that might look like in sort of practical terms we might receive a GP referral through the post and more often than not that's then looked at from the team leader's point of view so that would be Jimmy one of the team leaders in the service make a decision in terms of what priority that is.

Is that someone that needs sort of an urgent assessment really quickly? Or is that someone that can maybe wait to be put into the sort of allocation sort of slot for depending on how busy we are.

But usually the referral's screened on a sort of day-to-day basis when they come in by the team lead.

If that person's not around, if they're busy or off on annual leave, we would do have a duty system that we have that operates Monday to Friday, 9am till 5pm, and that'll be a member of staff, clinical member of staff, that will do that sort of role, screening that referral and making a decision.

understand the severity and how quickly we need to respond to these referrals.

So there's always the beauty of working in an MDT, there's always other people you can speak to.

So we have a consultant, as Lara said, a psychiatrist, we have a GP a few days a week any concerns that we have around sort of urgency to pick these referrals up.

As you can see, when it cleans it, it's everything cleaned out.
