Mehran is a winner of the Financial Times McKinsey Brackenbauer Prize.

He attended Yale where he was a Fulbright Scholar, Fox Air National Fellow, and Teaching Fellow.

He has been a lead for digital transformation of industries through the World Economic Forum and an expert on higher education, entrepreneurship, and industrial policy at the United Nations Industrial Development Organization.

So Mehran, thank you so much for coming on the show today to talk about your book.

Lori has been a teacher, instructional coach, site leader, professional development facilitator, and published author over her three decades in education.

Her whole career has been dedicated to professional learning, from designing a teaching fellows program for new teachers, creating in-house professional development tailored to the needs of the staff, building instructional coaching programs, and serving as the dean of faculty.

Lori is also the co-author of one of my favorite books on professional learning, The PD Book, among several other fabulous books that we talk about today.

I met Lori at the Ear Coast Teachers Conference earlier this year.

I was anointed with some partial release time to observe teachers without knowing anything that I was doing so after several years of trainings and learning and being more thoroughly developed in those areas I had you know helped develop the school's coaching program.

I developed a school mentoring program.

I developed a teaching fellows program for folks who are new to teaching, uh, who needed that sort of additional supports, uh, as they entered into the profession.

I led after school professional learning called teaching seminars.
