Te Rapa

So it's just a matter of working back from there.

Maybe next Friday at Te Rapa she might kick off, but if it was there, if it happened to be too wet there, we'd probably just trial her at Matamata again on October the 6th.

As I say, the railway's a fair way down, so we'll just have to be patient and wait for the right tracks to come along.

And as a rule, it's not really to labour weekend in New Zealand that the tracks start to come right if you look at the history of racing in general so you've just got to be patient sometimes.

Uh, uh, just for you, have you got a tip for us this weekend?

Terapa is left-handed, right-handed is Ellerslie, for example.

Yeah, Ellerslie's a, a right-hander, and Christchurch is right-handed.

I've never even thought about it, about which way the horses go.

... they're gonna be facing right 'cause that's the direction when they pass in the winning line.

So she's, she's obviously not betting Terapa.

But they're not, they're not always passing the winning line that way.

So, um, I grew up, it was, uh, my dad, um, he was a real creator, so he started the business.

Um, he went into business as a really young, sort of 16, 17-year-old with, um, some mates, um, from Hamilton, um, in Te Rapa, where we've always, um, had the businesses.

So, um, he was a panel beater by trade and was also really had a yearning to, to do well.

He'd come from a pretty, um, difficult background or, um, very modest background, um, and knew how to work hard and create stuff.

Yes.

What's that process been like for the team?

Um, so it was one that we, we knew for our growth we needed to, um, I think probably over the last 10 years we've, we've take- we took on a lot of new buildings within Te Rapa in Northway Street mainly.

Um, and we knew that those teams of, um, of divisional wasn't as great for the culture and, um, sharing resources, and it wasn't as ef- as efficient as it needed to be.

And Lance was keen to get her out in Spell her early all while the weather was good, and we've got her back now.

She trialed there at Te Rapa, and she trialed well.

And again yesterday, Kyle Wilson-Taylor rode her, and he got off her, and he said she's building well.

So she'll join in next Saturday at Ellerslie, and she's had that experience round there, which is a big thing.

Oh.

And then tomorrow, of course, Te Rapa races.

It's so...

I'm talking about knocking on the door.
