Matt NorlanderHOST
You had them at five.
Matt NorlanderHOST
You've got the Frogs sitting there at seven.
Matt NorlanderHOST
I've got TCU down at 11.
Matt NorlanderHOST
Why so high? Not that you shouldn't be, but why so high on Jamie Dixon's team? That's a pretty lofty number.
Chris LevelGUEST
I expect Oklahoma State to be much better.
Chris LevelGUEST
I think a lot of people feel like Jamie Dixon and TCU are going to be hard to deal with.
Chris LevelGUEST
And then there's these wild cards with these new coaches in Arizona State and Kansas State and Cincinnati.
Chris LevelGUEST
Jerry Kelton's a good coach now.
Joe SubcheckHOST
Um, so not to foreshadow my next picks, but, but, uh, that's just going to be how I, how I do it until they prove me wrong.
Joe SubcheckHOST
Uh, so the second game in, uh, in Vegas, the players are, will either be against TCU or Miami.
Joe SubcheckHOST
TCU is 49th in Kenpon.
Joe SubcheckHOST
Miami is 22nd.
Joe SubcheckHOST
So you can probably project, uh, Miami.
Joe SubcheckHOST
I'm expecting we're going to play Miami, who's actually ranked higher than Michigan and Ken Palm.
Joe SubcheckHOST
So I'm going to take a loss here.
Joe SubcheckHOST
Or I guess if we lose, we would play TCU.
Rob DausterHOST
He's part of that Grant McCaslin coaching tree was the guy that I think he was an assistant on Grant staff and then took over North Texas for a while.
Rob DausterHOST
After those two, I would put TCU and Oklahoma State in the they have a chance to make a tournament kind of a tier.
Rob DausterHOST
I think they're more bubble teams, although I do very much regret doubting.
Rob DausterHOST
Jamie Dixon and TCU with the amount that they, I think they brought four starters back, three and a half starters back.
Rob DausterHOST
That never feels comfortable.
Rob DausterHOST
And then I know Steve Lutz loves Kanye Cleary and is a really big fan of the roster that, He is put together.
9 MINS LATER
Justin JacksonPANELIST
And then you've got a possible player of the year in Robert Wright, so you've got that go-to guy and closer at the end of the game.
Rob DausterHOST
Yep.
Shane DennisHOST
If you're video streaming the show, you can see half of Radio Row.
Shane DennisHOST
You can see right to my right here, it's Frogs Today from TCU.
Shane DennisHOST
And then you've got our friends from 810, Sports Radio 810 WHB down there.
Shane DennisHOST
And a couple of out-of-shot radio stations.
19 MINS LATER
Shane DennisHOST
And...
Shane DennisHOST
Think of the nobody's respecting us card that these guys can play.
Shane DennisHOST
BYU, TCU, with Jamie Dixon, one of the deans of the Big 12 coaching, Cincinnati, West Virginia, and Baylor, all teams that Jack just referenced.
Shane DennisHOST
They can play the, you know, different things work for different teams.
Ryan HammerHOST
Number 9, I have Oklahoma State.
Ryan HammerHOST
Number 10, I have TCU.
Ryan HammerHOST
Number 11, I have Baylor.
Ryan HammerHOST
Number 12, I have Arizona State.
Ryan HammerHOST
Oklahoma State's got some dogs and Steve Lutz that I don't hate.
Ryan HammerHOST
I have mixed feelings and I don't know what to fully trust and what their ceiling really is.
Ryan HammerHOST
TCU, I feel the opposite.
Ryan HammerHOST
I don't love their roster at all, but...
Jim RootHOST
That's okay.
Jim RootHOST
Jamie Dixon and the TCU Horned Frogs ranked 22nd defensively.
Isaac TrotterGUEST
Of course it was David Punch.
Isaac TrotterGUEST
I should have known that.
Gary DickmanHOST
I mean, real-- I mean, they were scary at the time being near them, but they would go off big time, and, uh, they very rarely got technical.
Gary DickmanHOST
What-- I hosted TCU a few years ago, and, uh, and we had...
Gary DickmanHOST
I'm trying to remember.
Gary DickmanHOST
Jamie Dixon, of course, was the coach.
35 MINS LATER
Gary DickmanHOST
The other was in twenty twenty-two.
Gary DickmanHOST
They beat SMU in the New Mexico Bowl, twenty-four, twenty-three, and they had just forty-seven passing yards.
Gary DickmanHOST
Over the weekend, they beat TCU on the road seventeen to ten.
Gary DickmanHOST
They, uh, only rushed for a hundred and fifty-four yards and passed for sixty-two.
Jonathan LidskinHOST
Yeah.
Jonathan LidskinHOST
TCU.
Jonathan LidskinHOST
Like, you know, I, I'm a big Jamie Dixon fan.
Jonathan LidskinHOST
I, I have been for a long time it feels like.
Jonathan LidskinHOST
You know, they obviously lost some key pieces, you know, the main one being David Ponch headed to Texas.
Jonathan LidskinHOST
But, you know, I think this is just, you know...
Jonathan LidskinHOST
It, this is the TCU identity.
Jonathan LidskinHOST
It was their identity when, you know, they were making tournaments earlier in the tw- 2020s.
Leif ThulinHOST
Like, I, I just think he just made a mistake in building that roster.
Leif ThulinHOST
Uh- I've got TCU above Kansas.
Andy PattonGUEST
Mm-hmm.
Leif ThulinHOST
I love Jamie Dixon.
Leif ThulinHOST
And I was fortunate enough to see that thriller of a game where Benedict Mathurin willed Arizona to win.
Andy PattonGUEST
[laughs]
Leif ThulinHOST
But frankly, TCU was better.
Andy PattonGUEST
Mm-hmm.
