Good to see Jordy Houston also knocking down a three-pointer.

I mean, remember she really rattled Juju Watkins when Juju Watkins came to Iowa a couple of years ago.

I think that was Caitlin's Jersey retirement, but Juju had, I think made one of her first eight shots when kylie was guarding her like she really rattled her down uh so i would say from an athletic standpoint from a length standpoint probably more phase on uh but the more immediate is probably going to be whiting but that three spot is really interesting Because who do you keep off the floor? Do you keep off Stremlow? I don't think you can do that.

Do you keep off Journey Houston, who has really had one of the best off-seasons, according to everybody around the program? Or do you take off Whiting, who has started 98 games in her entire college basketball career? Like, that's an experienced vet who's played on good basketball teams.

So, again, I don't envy what they have to do.

Well, yeah, it's the other thing.

Taylor Stremlow, I'll tease one little bit.

Taylor Stremlow had double-double points and assists.

You have Dani Carnegie, who's one of the most dynamic guards in the country.

So there's still, still a little bit of a work in progress with some of that stuff.

Where do you think the leadership comes from on this team? Obviously, you could point to an Ava Heiden, uh, or a Taylor Stremlow both entering their third season, uh, here in Iowa City.

Uh, but you mentioned there's a lot of new faces on this team, uh, six new players out of the transfer portal.

Of course, a highly touted freshman in Mc- McKenna Velichko, and expectations probably gonna be high for her, um, going into year one, although as we saw with other, uh, freshmen, Caitlin Clark the notable exception, uh, you know, it's not just an instant kind of plug-and-play type of thing.

Uh, it might take a little bit for her to get her, her sea legs, if you will, under her.

But in terms of leadership, just kind of what, what did you hear from the players about who's kind of taking the, the bull by the horns, if you will, to kind of step up and, and bring this group of, of returners, but also a bunch of new faces together?

Yeah, I mean, uh, Jan made a point of pointing out that, uh, Taylor Stremlow, Ava Heiden, and ChitChat Wright were all voted captains by the players.
