Taylor Phinney

There might be a bit of a cause for concern for the usual heavy hitting countries such as Australia and New Zealand because they were down in 12th and 13th in that table respectively.

The other standout story from Shanghai was the comeback of US rider Taylor Phinney.

You might remember him as a former track world champion, future road talent, but also Si's most awkward ever interview.

You're welcome.

And Rui Oliviera, who took an incredibly emotional win for Portugal in the omnium whilst also taking silver in the Madison.

And now, the event in Shanghai also marked the return to competition of Taylor Phinney for the USA, who came out of retirement recently to focus on having a crack at the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles.

Uh, Taylor Phinney is back racing on the track as well.

Mm.

Uh, which is a f- uh, excuse me, is a really fun story because he's been, uh, done racing now for nearly a decade.

Mm.

So not, not great.

I saw a couple reports being like, oh, you know, this really harms Taylor Phinney's, you know, you know, journey towards the Olympics.

But-

And, uh, yeah, Ames will not be watching that.

Taylor Phinney is racing in China this-

For track? Yeah.

He said the time is 24 hours, so maybe it's happening, like, right...
