Tatopani

Um, so that's the positive, if there is a positive, that, um, you know, these borders have been wiped out before in natural disasters.

So in the 2015 earthquake, uh, the border that we used for decades before that, which was called Zhangmu, um, Zhangmu, Nilam, Tatopani, they all have multiple names because of the different groups in the, in the region.

But, um, that border was wiped out or, or very badly damaged, that border crossing, um, in the earthquake, which was when China and Nepal together decided that Kyirong might be a safer border crossing, or at least easier to build the infrastructure necessary.

So they built in Kyirong.

You cannot take such chances with nature.

And because of the flood last year, Ju-July last year, the port had been shut just as Tatopani Port has been shut right now as, as a precaution.

This was also shut.

It was only reopened after all the cons-- reconstructions.

That is the place that's now been wiped out.

Forty percent through Gyirong.

Another forty-five percent used to take place from a place called Tatopani.

Tatopani is more to the east.
