How has the geopolitical landscape changed over time in your mind?

Well, I came to the Parliament in 1996, so 30 years ago, and we invited China to WTO.

Well, we knew their political culture is different, political system is also different, but if China become a good player in the global economy.

Everyone would benefit.

That's what we thought.

But unfortunately, it didn't turn out that way.

China gained the power as their economy has grown.

At the same time, do you see the Europeans as well, kind of seeing what they need to do with Japan, with Australia, with Taiwan, Korea, to make sure they're also part of the discussion as well? Or are they still a little bit on the fence?
