Tariq Lamptey

Get, keep getting him on it, and then he kind of just faded out a little bit.

Lamptey started brightly.

Injury was a bit of a worry.

Dunn going down, another injury, a bit of a worry.

But obviously positive news that he's gonna be fit for Saturday.

I don't think they've released anything on Lamptey yet, but, uh, hopefully he is gonna be back soon.

I thought Adamson was pretty solid.

Um, again, my, you know-- he's very, very safe in possession, which is fine.

The defensive solidity is really clear to see.

We look really solid, even though we had to sub out two new defenders against West Brom, because we lost Jimmy Dunne in the game before and Tarek Lamptey, but we're looking really solid.

Clark Salter and Ronnie Edwards are a good partnership.

And it looks like we were able to counter-attack really well in that game.

Like, the mindset that you refer to there, where we would have gone away and probably lost that because our heads would have been down feeling sorry for ourselves, that seems to have changed somewhat.

And I think also the mindset going into Preston is probably going to be different again.

I think as fans collectively, QPR fans would have felt like, this is a banana skin, this is a team at the bottom, this is a team that's got... going to have a new manager coming in so everyone's scared of a new manager bounce but at the moment we seem to be pretty strong in terms of like playing against the teams that have come up teams that have less expectations this season so I feel pretty confident and I'm yeah I'm really behind the squad and behind Stefan and Stefan seems to really like have a good grip and a good relationship with his players at the moment so I feel pretty confident we'll be able to do do something good this weekend and then the break also the forced like two almost three week break is essentially like a mini sort of pre-season again for us we can get the likes of Chair and Lamptey and Smith and Kone back in the squad and then we can really go for West Ham when we get back so I'm feeling pretty positive but trying to keep my feet on the ground at the same time

Yeah, I mean, I think, well, I agree with all that, James.

Why do you think that? I've got my theories, but I'm interested in as to why you think the second half looked so much better than the first.

I reckon it partly could be like mentality-wise going into the game, all the players know that we've just had six bodies drop and like one of them being, well, the captain and then also Lamptey just a few days before.

And a lot of those guys who are playing probably knackered physically and mentally.

And I feel like that first half, maybe just like, I don't know, just thinking more about... playing for the draw and just, like, making sure we don't get beat.

But yeah, I think sort of mentality-wise, getting that goal before or at the end of the first half might have helped.

Yeah, I think so.

I think one thing that I noticed from the first half, I don't know if they thought Lamptey was going to play or they just don't rate Mbengue.

but they were abusing our right-hand side, abusing our, like, every, almost every single time they had the ball in a bit of space, Collier or Malumbi, they're sending it out to the left.

Um, it wasn't to be.

I thought Lamptey was excellent in that game.

Overall, I thought it was a really enjoyable watch.

Like it was an end-to-end game.

Madsen was getting hugely frustrated when he was carrying the ball, um, through the kind of middle and into the final third.

He's wanting people to make certain runs and they're not, and then he's looking to go in different directions.

Um, yeah, and again, [chuckles] unfortunately Lamptey got injured in that game, which hurt us from that kind of attacking sense in that position as well.

Yeah, absolutely.

I was talking with a few media colleagues before the game, you know, what QPR's starting XI might be if everyone was fit.

And you're throwing in Jimmy Dunn, Ilias Chair, Tariq Lamptey, Richard Kone, Karamoka Dembele.

Like, you know, they had a lot of players missing.

And I think if they're all fit, I think they've got probably a top eight championship team, championship starting XI.

There seems to be You know, their injury issues are creeping back up again.

I saw talk of Richard Kone, Elias Chair and obviously Tariq Lamptey being injured.

So that's a concern as well.

And there's also a concern, a further concern for QPR.
