I'm Lancer.

I'm on the phone with Hugo Ferreira and Breezy from the band Tantric.

Tantric's been around for 25 years, celebrating with a 25-year anniversary of their debut self-titled album.

And how's life on the road so far with this particular tour, Hugo?

I mean, honestly, really good.

But at this point it's, I, I've been, and, uh, I, I've been in tantric for 27 years or so and 25 years since the new release.

And, you know, the majority of those have, have been with a new lineup, you know?

But, I mean, you're the voice of Tantric.

So the band, the lineup was short-lived in terms of, like, they toured and stuff, they did the record, and then he sort of, like, ended the band and kept making music under Days of the New.

But those three guys, the other three band members, went on to, uh, to form a group called Tantric, and they had, like, a couple of singles and stuff.

So, like, they-

Yeah, that name rings a bell.

We, like you said, we finally got it figured out, and we'll, we'll get this one behind us for sure.

I guess for you, like, when people hear the name Jaron Galino, right, they, they think bass player, Lynch Mob, Heaven's Edge, Tantric.

But if you stripped out all of the bands and the music away for just a minute, right, who is Jaron Galino? How would you, how would you describe yourself to the listeners?

Well, I think the average listener would probably say, "What is Jaron Galino?" 'Cause my name is very uncommon.

And what I mean by that was, you know, okay, do I go f- full force with having a job and a career and a house and, and family and all that stuff, or is this my shot in my late 20s to take the next step and maybe make something of it?

Yeah.

And, um, you know, the summer of 2017, I joined a band called Tantric, and, uh, it was a, you know, a t- a two or three-day notice to leave for a six-week tour, um, with a band I knew nothing about.

You know, I had heard the name.

This St. Louis bass band and I were going to dig into the songs and really get into that performance on that live stage.

I mean, they are known for blending funeral homes, family, and rock and roll together, which has included tours with Striper, Tantric, L.A.

Guns, Faster Pussycat, and even Black Oak, Arkansas.

The day with Torchlight Parade became a missed opportunity.

Off the top of my head, I don't know.

I've had bands like Tantric that are on tour that we have like two days to do a song and they park the tour bus outside of the studio.

And, you know, they're going in and out, doing their parts, going back to the bus and all that.

And I'm sitting in the room recording the next thing, you know.

Because they would ask us to open for the touring acts that would come in.

So we got to play with Adima and Tantric and Liliac and Platinum Moon and Lines of Loyalty.

You know what I mean? So that was just everything for us because all the rock fans love to go out to the Winchester.

And we just started to be able to make a name for ourselves that way.

You know what, uh, his hat means, right?

Fan-tric? Oh, Tantric.

Yeah, like tantric sex.

They did a sex tour?

It's, it's pretty awful.

For, uh, for the pod, the story o- on this hat is, um, my drummer in my previous bands for a long time in Michigan, his son turned 40.

And in the middle of nowhere, North Grand Rapids, Michigan, Tantric played the garage party for, uh, for his birthday, and that was pretty sweet, and it was like out of a '90s movie.
