Tantive IV

George Lucas originally envisioned a completely different spacecraft, but early designs looked too similar to the Eagle Transporter from Space 1999.

Instead those designs went on to become the Tantive.

For the Falcon, the design team went back to the drawing board and created the distinctive burger-shaped vessel with its offset cockpit and forward mandibles.

Industrial light and magic then covered the filming miniatures with hundreds of model kit parts, or greeblies, creating a ship that looked worn, repaired and lived in.

Uh, Tim had his moment where he sees the, uh, Tantive IV, and then again in the cantina, where it's just br- pulling him into this fandom.

Uh, Christian and Jim, did you guys have that moment in that, maybe that first movie or maybe later on? Maybe, uh, for me, it's the, the, the, the scene where they put Han in carbonite.

The Rebellion still has hope.

Troopers scream and flee as Darth Vader tears through them, narrowly escaping with the data in the hands of Leia Organa aboard the Tantive IV.

There's a new hope for the Rebellion.

So Disney gets a hold of this.

It's like, you don't have to be in every single

movie.

And shouldn't they have both been on the Tantive IV already if it's in Raditz's ship? Scarif, why should they go to Scarif? Wouldn't he already be on board, like on his way when that line is uttered?

it's a Pelta-class medical frigate TB-73, but it does look exactly like the Tantive IV from the inside to me.

Yeah, okay.

And it does look like it from the outside.

You see a, like one of the hammerhead ships.

You see one of the, uh, the Tantive, the Blockade Runner, uh, style ship.

And I think, uh, off to the right you see kind of a medical frigate looking from Return of the Jedi.

All classic ships, and it looks so good.

For whatever reason, Greedo plays an integral role.

Not sure how, but it's gonna start on the Tantive IV, V, I can't remember.

In the beginning of the movie when it gets captured by the Death, by the Star Destroyer.

Yeah, yeah.
