Tank Hawkins

At the very least, they're not experienced.

I mean, they take a shot on a guy like Tank Hawkins who comes over from Florida and a guy like Clemens who starts at Michigan and then goes to Oregon State and has been banged up.

But they have the top-end talent coming out of high school.

It's just whether they pan out or not.

And so I think – A lot of that has to do with, you know, can you put them in positions to be successful? Tank Hawkins played one snap on Saturday.

One snap.

He started the game and then he didn't come in the game again.

They're not going to get anywhere because we needed four or five 15-yard penalties to kickstart drives in Washington.

So, yeah, that's kind of going back to my point where it's like, okay, yeah, you run it up on Duquesne here, but are things really fixed? So what I mean by seeing things fixed, I want to see Tank Hawkins on the field.

I want to see him used as a decoy.

I want to see him going deep.

And they, if you haven't watched, go check it out.

Um, You know, they break down the touchdown play.

Tank Hawkins is lined up almost like an H-back in that formation to the left of Pinnock.

Pinnock fake toss to Tank Hawkins, and then he drives it up the middle for the touchdown.

So and I also think that even outside of the offense, the lofty might feel the most is in the special teams department because he is their best player.

punt returner best kick best kick returner by far um and and it's not like okay like you're losing your best punt returner we'll find some other guy to plug back in there like the guys they plugged back in there did not play super well and i mean uh on one punt return they had their starting safety jalen thomas back there and he ends up muffing the punt and um he actually turned that into like a nice 10 yard game but didn't uh didn't feel it very cleanly and then One other kick return they put back there, Tank Hawkins, who's kind of in the same mold as Freeman.

He ends up not fielding that kickoff cleanly and turned into a two-yard loss on that return.

So especially playing a team like K-State, which we all know has been awesome in special teams for a million years, I would not be surprised if the game kind of swings on the special teams aspect just because of how awesome one team projects to be and how kind of shorthanded the other one is probably going to be.

So it might come down to if this is a game, if Daniel Blood breaks one off, because he is the player that actually had the longest catch of the day for the Cougars against Washington.

Yeah, you know, Washington State's kind of in an interesting spot where their roster is comprised of a lot of like bounce back candidates uh Tank Hawkins is going to be another receiver that they use pretty heavily and he's a former four-star guy went to Florida out of high school spent two years there didn't really do a whole lot now he's there at Washington State so like they they have the pedigree with some of their guys to do it and you know we talked about Caden Pennant going back to last week and kind of being interested in watching what he did because he had an awesome season last year at UC Davis but how's it going to translate to what Washington State's going to do so So there's there's a chance that it could kind of pop up and do stuff.

Time to pick our game MVPs for K-State in this one of the catcher to win.

For sure.

And the fake toss I thought was incredible play call, really well faked by Tank Hawkins who was lined up at the backfield.

Mm-hmm.

And then also a great block from Leo Palalasa to kind of clear the way-

But I, I do also agree that, that if it's not a bigger loss in the return game, like, it's really close because-

... of how sure-handed he is and how shaky, uh, Jaylon Thomas and Tank Hawkins looked in that department too, so like-

Well, and he's electric returning too.

He's maybe more of the safety valve, the underneath option.

I think kind of the X factor of that spot is probably Tank Hawkins.

He transferred in from Florida, former four-star recruit.
