Tangipahoa Parish

It was administered by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, and it will presi- provide 96 million over four years to help communities build coordinated systems of care for people who are homeless and who have serious mental illness, substance use disorders, or co-occurring disorders.

So the eight selected communities, they'll receive 3 million a year for four years, and the selected communities are Alcohol and Drug Adent- Addiction and Mental Health Services, this is board, uh, for Montgomery County, Ohio; Cherokee Nation, this is in Oklahoma; the City of Detroit Health Department, Michigan; City of Houston Health Department Human Services Division, that's in Texas; City of Huntington, West Virginia; Miami-Dade, Florida; Robeson County, North Carolina; and then the, uh, Tangipahoa, [laughs] Louisiana Parish Government will also get it.

So that's a great thing.

I'm glad that they're starting to look at this stuff.

Actually, how I got on to DOTD is, uh, um, I met...

I was doing some onshore oil and gas work in Tangipahoa Parish, met Eric Lanier's dad, David Lanier, who was a project engineer and land surveyor for DOTD.

Got to know him real well, uh, over a couple months of dealing with him on some oil and gas work.

He actually asked me, he said, "Do you know my son, Eric, who, who lived out in Baton Rouge?" I'd heard of Eric all my career.

And you will be able to listen to both of them and decide who might best represent your community.

And of course, in the 21st, just so the viewers know, is Tangipahoa Parish, Livingston Parish, and St. Helena, those three parishes.

So particularly if you live in one of those three parishes, you want to inform yourselves, educate yourselves on this DA's race.

It's an extremely important race, very, very important position out there.
