Tamarindo

With me, your host, Richard Becks, and today we're joined by Lauren Manti.

She's a long-term resident of Tamarindo, real estate advisor for Blue Water Properties.

So I've known her for a long time.

Wanted to chat to her about what's kind of going on in Tamarindo, but also get kind of more of a general vibe of what Tamarindo is, who's it good for, what's it like to live there, who it's not great for, and also kind of some real estate opportunities that she thinks are a good, basically, investment there.

So we'll be chatting to her about that.

I just flew in from Mamon Antonio.

And I think that that's probably here to stay for probably what's the end of it, if that makes sense.

And probably we'll roll into 2027.

I love her so much.

She's become a dear friend over the years, and this is her Pilates studio in Tamarindo in Costa Rica.

And because it's a Pilates studio, this is part of her movement studio, so there's a weight room and a fully-equipped gymnasium in that building as well.

So obviously it's a movement practice, so you want it to invoke some energy and movement into the environment.

And yeah, the pastor was one of our elders, and he kind of was discipled with us.

And when we left, he took over the church.

But I would never dream in a million years that it would've been the crash, right, a couple years later.

I just had this feeling like things were changing, and I wanted out of the rat race, so I started putting my resume out there and started working for RE/MAX in Tamarindo.

And so that's what brought me to Costa Rica, and everybody thought that I was crazy.

But, you know, sometimes you have to take risks in life, so...

Are there any destinations where you'd like, you know...

It's the usual, right? Mano Antonio, La Fortuna, Tamarindo, Flamingo-ish, basically, you know, Weston area.

Those are can't miss.

Monteverde, I think, is...

flow it? Long-term renters? Yeah, exactly.

Can you imagine the difference between a nightly rate and a monthly rate at some of these properties?

Well, I mean, I said to them, imagine Tamarindo without the tourists.

Like, take the tourists away.
