When a guest does say something unexpected or really interesting, how do you follow up on that instead of what your original plan was?
15:08
So I think that it's a great idea to have questions when you go into an interview.
15:16
I think it's a bad idea if you think you have to a- ask all those questions.
15:21
So your questions on your card, my blank card, I always have these cards hanging around my desk 'cause that's where I write all my stuff is on...
15:30
Like, I have lots.
15:31
[laughs] And I, you know, if I go in and I have my little card here, and I'm asking you a question and just reading the questions, it's- it's not good.
15:43
So you should know your first couple of questions and use them as your insurance.
18:16
[laughs]
18:54
If you're gonna make, uh-
18:55
People wanna have animals.
18:57
They wanna have a cat.
18:58
They wanna have dogs.
18:59
They wanna have their friends over.
19:00
They wanna work from home maybe.
19:02
They wa- we, you know, w- we have a life.
20:09
Yeah.
9:09
In this case, the, the reservation systems.
9:12
Yeah.
9:12
I, I don't know if...
9:13
I, I don't understand.
9:14
I have never heard one person complain about Kits Pool and, and waiting to get in or waiting to go swimming or something like that.
9:24
I've definitely heard people upset about it because it was leaking, and we do need to update our community pools, and we need to make sure that they're running properly.
9:35
So I can see that.
12:02
it has to be redone completely.
8:25
In this case, the, the reservation systems.
8:27
Yeah.
8:28
I, I don't know if...
8:29
I, I don't understand.
8:30
I have never heard one person complain about Kits pool and, and waiting to get in or waiting to go swimming or something like that.
8:40
I've definitely heard people upset about it because it was leaking.
8:44
And we do need to update our community pools, and we need to make sure that they're running properly, so I can see that.
11:17
it has to be redone completely.
18:45
Mm-hmm
18:45
... like every time I don't tip, I feel bad.
18:47
I always tip at a restaurant.
18:48
I always tip at a restaurant, and I thought that's what tipping was at a restaurant.
18:55
But now it's at, I go to a sandwich shop and I get a sandwich and I have to tip for it, and I go to the cold beer and wine store and there's a tip option for it, and it's difficult to get to the zero part.
19:10
Then I feel bad 'cause they're standing there watching.
20:01
I mean, it's, it is, um, it has gotten out of hand.
20:04
And so, and the p- the part that here's where I feel bad, and I don't wanna feel bad, right? You go to a restaurant, everything's great, it's wonderful, the food is delicious, the service is amazing.
30:30
Mm-hmm
30:31
... or whatever, right? They're just, like, I don't know.
30:34
Um, they're a thing.
30:34
But my kids all have Crocs, and they love them, and they wear them everywhere, even if it's pouring rain or...
30:40
I just, I don't get it.
30:42
The pajama thing, I mean, who am I to criticize? I drive my kids to school in the morning in my nightgown and house coat most days, but I don't go to the airport like that.
30:53
[laughs]
32:55
[laughs] Exactly.
23:10
Mm-hmm.
23:10
So to think that they'll be gone, it does make you go, "Oh, yeah." I mean, it's...
23:15
You're not nostalgic about the bridge per se, but it's maybe the memory that's associated with it.
23:21
So, I don't know.
23:22
I think it's a neat idea.
23:23
But, so how do they take it apart? Do they just...
23:26
I thought they would just, like, explode it into the river and then pick it out of there.
24:05
You know, it's true, though.
29:42
[laughs]
29:42
I never thought I'd say I agree with that guy.
29:44
But, you know, listen, I think that there are always exceptions to the rule, right? Like, I love the idea that maybe, you know, uh, like a new mom can still work or a new dad can still work from home and do a hybrid thing.
29:58
I love that if you, uh, are disabled and maybe the right accommodations are not at work for you, you should have that option to, uh, work from home, right? There's lots of options, I think.
30:10
But I did some reading when I knew you wanted to chat about this, and I think that most Canadians, well, it says that fi- 59% of Canadians support federal workers spending more time in the office and less time working remotely.
30:24
And I think it's because We're, our tax dollars are paying for them to work
31:10
But I think there's a value to that, right?
31:13
100%.
46:01
Uh, first of all, what went through your mind when you heard about these fee increase and out-of-province surcharges?
46:06
Okay.
46:06
Well, first of all, I hate it when anything increases.
46:09
Like, for us to pay more money for something, I...
46:13
To me, it feels like a money grab.
46:15
And then I, you know, I really did think about it all day.
46:18
I was thinking about it, trying to find a bright side here.
47:52
[laughs] You know, and it's-
28:05
Mm-hmm.
28:05
There's so much that goes into travel.
28:07
You're t- you're thinking about your family.
28:09
You're thinking about maybe your mental health.
28:11
You need a break.
28:12
You wanna go somewhere warm, or you wanna go to a, an exciting game with your kid.
28:16
You're thinking about your finances.
31:32
[laughs] Well, look, it's, it's-
3:57
Mm-hmm.
3:57
There's so much that goes into travel.
3:59
You're t- you're thinking about your family.
4:01
You're thinking about maybe your mental health.
4:03
You need a break.
4:04
You wanna go somewhere warm, or you wanna go to a, an exciting game with your kid.
4:08
You're thinking about your finances.
7:24
[laughs] Well, look, it's, it's-
17:58
No. [laughs]
17:59
And so y- I see a lot of it, right, in my short drive, especially around school pickup time.
18:04
Like, it is so- People are so angry out there.
18:09
And I think that it's a combination of everybody in a hurry, no one has any patience, and I think the world feels angry right now.
18:21
And so it sort of...
18:23
I, I think that it spills over into how we're all feeling about every little thing, right?
20:54
... get them everywhere
20:54
... absolutely right.
2:39
[laughs] I know.
2:39
And so y- I see a lot of it, right, in my short drive, especially around school pickup time.
2:45
Like, it is so...
2:47
People are so angry out there.
2:49
And I think that it's a combination of everybody in a hurry, no one has any patience, and I think the world feels angry right now.
3:01
And so it sort of...
3:03
I, I think that it spills over into how we're all feeling about every little thing, right?
6:33
... trying to get e- get them everywhere
