What's the connective thread? And was there a specific moment, maybe reporting on AI ethics at companies like Amazon or hitting your own wall as a gig worker who couldn't get a credit card despite a six-figure income that convinced you to start MPW?
2:34
Yeah.
2:34
I mean, the answer is yes to all of that, but I should give a little bit more explanation.
2:39
So, you know, I often get asked the question, I don't have a linear journey into becoming a fintech founder.
2:44
And the answer is yes.
2:45
And that's good, right? If we had people solving problems from inside institutions all the time for the majority of the economy, society, then you would never have disruption and you would never have answers that are solving a problem that people actually face.
3:01
And so I have spent time inside the financial industry.
5:17
What specifically is broken in how FICO and Duro-based models read someone's financial behavior, and what does NPWR see that they don't?
2:47
So why, how did you come up with it? Like what was, what's the story behind it?
2:52
Well, it's a long story.
2:54
So I'll tell you a little bit about myself really quick.
2:56
So you gave a great introduction, but I started my career as an investigative journalist and I did that for about 15 years.
3:06
And one of the things I did as an investigative journalist was obviously dig into hard problems and be able to synthesize them in a quick and easy way to tell the public about it, right? And that was probably one of the best skill sets that I ever learned for becoming a founder.
3:22
Because as I moved out of the news and leaned into technology and building companies, that skill set came with me of being able to identify problems, synthesize them, do market research, right? And in journalism, it's just talking to people.
3:37
And then to start to dig in and solve that problem with technology.

How are you managing your own behavior within this? Like, are you, what do you do? Do you know what I mean? Like, what do you do to kind of balance out the stress and the pressure with, yeah, how do you balance that out?
