Tamale South Member of Parliament, Haruna Iddrisu, has stated that President John Dramani Mahama's appointment of Emilia Afi Agbenyor as one of the two new deputy chairpersons of the Election Commission is constitutionally appropriate, although critics reserve the right to remind the NDC government of its actions in the past against similar appointments.

Mr. Iddrisu made this on an interview, and the swearing in of the 43-year-old Emilia Afi Agbenyor has struck controversies following her affiliation with the incumbent National Democratic Congress.
