Quick observation.

We've talked about this before, about how the Talamasca seem to function differently in the Vampire Chronicles as they do in the Mayfair Witches series.

How do you think they're going to reconcile that when they finally do a crossover? Because it's inevitable.

But he appears with Raglan at the bowling alley to collect Lestat's head.

So I wondered something.

I wonder if when Alex initially left the band that he was gotten to by the Talamasca, and the Talamasca has been coordinating him being in the AA meeting and the transformation via Gabriela, just so that way he could be there to help with the collection of Lestat's head after Armand's retribution.

And I'm wondering why...

Because they are absolutely aiming for the slightly straighter, more romance novel-oriented audience with Mayfair Witches.

When they added Talamasca, which unfortunately got cancelled after only one season, they were trying to launch a show that fell more into... sort of the spy thriller genre.

And I was shocked that it didn't get at least a second season because production value and writing and casting wise, it was a stronger hit the ground running than even Mayfair was.

And yet Mayfair continues to get seasons like Interview does and Talamasca, they just nixed it after only one.

So they're clearly still trying to figure out what their major strengths viewing demographics are, who they are and what they want.

when it's applied to Immortal Universe, because so far we've only had three shows.

Only one of those three has been canceled.

But these two massive universes, the lonely globe-trotting vampires and the insular dynastic witches, they aren't just operating in isolated silos.

They share narrative DNA, and the connective tissue keeping them in the same universe is this shadowy organization called the Talamasca.

The Talamasca are the unsung heroes of the universe's architecture.

They are a secret, incredibly wealthy order of psychic detectives and supernatural scholars based in London.

They don't fight monsters.

They record.

They act as a sort of supernatural United Nations.

We meet an elder Talamasca agent, Aaron Lightner, who is heavily involved in the witch books, and we meet another, David Talbot, who becomes intimately involved with the vampires.

I kind of wish that Daniel Molloy had tried to put up a fight would have liked to see him get his ass kicked by some like telepaths or whatever the hell raglan james had with him there right

Over on Netflix, what's Talamasca? The Talamasca is a secret group that investigates and keeps an eye on the vampires and all the occult, otherworldly things of Anne Rice's world.

So the Talamasca are kind of like the background humans.

So it's a TV show that I think it went to AMC+.

I don't even know if it got renewed for a second season, but it is now on Netflix to watch.
