Taky Kimura

Uh, so he's learning about racism from, uh, a young Black man named Jes- Jesse Glover, who's his first student, who is beaten within an inch of his life at the age of 12 by police.

Um, he's learning from Taki Kimura, who, uh, when he was 18 and about to, um, graduate with honors from his high school, is put on a train and sent to Tule Lake, uh, to, uh, an incarceration camp, um, just because of the, his nationality and his race.

And, and so he, Bruce is absorbing all of this, and this is what h- builds him into the person, the hero that he becomes.

And I think that when we talk about folks in Bosnia and Herzegovina, right, like, they're seeing in Bruce somebody who, uh, stands for truth, stands for justice, um, against the big overweening forces.
