Now a scare on the Taipei MRT.

Passengers reported a man brandishing a knife on a Taipei MRT train in New Taipei on Saturday evening, prompting police to search the train from three stations.

No suspect was found on board.

Police later tracked the man through closed-circuit television and contacted him, determining that the object he held was a nail clipper rather than a knife.

Commuters were shocked by a bloody confrontation that unfolded on the Taipei MRT during the morning rush hour on Wednesday.

The woman was left bloodied with several broken teeth.

Although all of the animals were brought back safely, the zoo says it's examining its procedures to identify any oversights and prevent further escapes.

Passengers on the Taipei MRT's brown line were in a rough ride at 12-30 on Friday afternoon after the obstacle detection warning system brought part of the line to a standstill.

About 40 passengers bound for the Taipei Zoo were forced to get off the train at Shanghai Station and were taken via shuttle bus the rest of the way.

The line was then shut down from Lingguang to Taipei Zoo as technicians rushed to make repairs.
