Taggart Lake

On June 21st, 2021, a woman in Jackson, Wyoming, told federal investigators she'd met Keean McLaughlin on a trail in Grand Teton National Park on the evening he vanished.

He'd mentioned that he was from Ireland, told her where he lived and where he worked, and said he was heading down to Taggart Lake to jump off his favorite rock.

Rangers turned the search toward the lake on the strength of her story, but none of it had happened.

The clue that actually pointed somewhere wasn't on any trail, it was sitting in his computer's search history, and investigators wouldn't find it until September.

On June 23rd, the park announced a new tip from a Jackson resident just back from traveling abroad.

The resident reported talking with a man matching Keehan's description on the south side of the Taggart Moraine late on the afternoon or early evening of June 8th.

The man was headed south toward Taggart Lake.

He'd mentioned his job, his Irish roots, and his home in Jackson, and then they'd gone their separate ways.
