Tafsir

He will hope to learn the, the language of the Quran so he can read the words of Allah and understand without any translator, without any translator.

Yani, no, no doubt he, he will also as well study the sciences about Islam a- a- and the Tafasir and, and the proper u- understanding of the principles and the likes like this, but the Quran is so profound and powerful.

And even the ami who understands the Arabic language, he can read it, and if he's truthful, he will benefit in a great manner.

It will strengthen his faith.

And he says, Al-Quddus, the Holy, means that he is free from all evil, deficiency, and imperfection.

As the scholars of Tafseer have said, he is pure from every defect and free from all that is unbecoming of him.

Very often, people fall into the trap of attributing to Allah false perceptions and wrong understandings and projecting human traits to Allah and we'll talk about that in a second inshaAllah Jinnan Yusuf in her book Reflecting on the Names of Allah says, As Muslims, the Qur'an clarifies for us who Allah is, His attributes and how they manifest in our lives, and emphasizes that He is nothing like His creation.

This last point is extremely important because, without realizing, we tend to anthropomorphize God anyway, and that means that we attribute to Allah human traits.

SubhanAllah.

So we should also try to read Surah Qaf, Tafseer series, Translation series, Translation Qur'an and try to understand it.

Because the Prophet explained it and it is very important for us to learn it.

Sahaba, Nabi sallallahu alayhi wa sallam na khutbah, dil kholi ne hum barta, and even dimaag sukoon ma rakhi ne hum barta.

I'm going to learn about the meaning of a verse which was spoken by Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.

Because sometimes we tell ourselves, okay, inshallah, brother, one day I'm going to learn Arabic, I'm going to learn Arabic, and then when I learn Arabic, I'm going to learn Nahu and Sarif, and I'm going to become Sibaway, and I'm going to do this, and then after that, I'm going to open Tafsir al-Tabari and Tafsir ibn Kafir, and I'm going to be able to learn the Qur'an in the Arabic language.

Right? We tell ourselves this.

But if we genuinely wanted to learn the meanings of the Qur'an, at least at a basic level, May Allah reward our brothers and sisters that have put in so much time and effort to translate the meanings of the Qur'an for us.

They say, La ilaha illallah Muhammadur Rasulallah.

They realize that this is the truth.

Not by reading Tafsir ibn Kathir.

Not by reading Tafsir al-Tabari.

Allah Azza wa Jal said, وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْنَا الْمُسْتَقَدِمِينَ مِنْكُمْ وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْنَا الْمُسْتَأْخِرِينَ We know among you those who are ahead and those who are behind and delayed.

And in the Tafsir, he say that this could be a reference to those who have already died.

Allah Azawajal punish them with that.

Or those who will be destroyed later, that is one.

And in another opinion, and all of these things by the way in Tafsir, they could complement each other.

He said, we know those who rush to virtue and those who deny themselves that and they are behind.

So Allah Azzawajal, when He opened the gates of righteousness, the gates of Jannah, there are those who will rush, just like a sail.

So he says Mujahid here regarding the eye of Allah when he says they recite it as it deserves to be recited.

So he gives Tafsir.

And he says they act upon it as it deserves to be acted upon.

يَعْمَلُونَ بِهِ حَقَّ عَمَالِهِ قَالَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حُسَيْنِ So it was good to pause on this part as well.

I'm gonna go real quick through this.

Everything that they're dependent on over here for Hadith sciences, that means Sahih Muslim, uh, that means al-Bukhari, Ibn Daud, Tirmidhi, Maja, Nisa'i, or Ibn Hisham, or al-Wakiri, or al-Tabari, all of these seven great men who wrote down the Tafsir, the Tahrik, the Hadith, and the Sirah, those are the four gen- genre of traditions.

All of these men that he's dependent on here, everything they said and did should have extant manuscripts.

They're writing in the ninth and 10th century, right? That was asked of us in the 1800s.
