T2 Trainspotting

Yeah, let's talk about the fucking movie before we talk about Trains Ohio.

So, yeah, we're talking about Trainspotting 2, released in 2017.

Whole cast comes back.

Same director, Danny Boyle, Irvin Welsh, the writer of the book, was involved.

And Trainspotting 2... is based upon the books that came out after Trainspotting, I believe Porno and another one.

So Trainspotting 2 is like a hodgepodge mashup of all of the books that came out after Trainspotting that were in the sequel canon, like the sequel narrative.

So what did you think of it?

Um...

I think my first audition, no, no, no, tell lie.

I think my second audition was Trainspotting 2.

I remember meeting Danny Boyle.

and i remember it was about 20 boys and at a time and we were just told to like play a mini game of football and just shit out what we want and do what we want and i remember i was going to my slot these boys and i can't play football myself i'm not like i don't know like i didn't know what to do so just like i'm not i wasn't like one of the boys you'd see at lunchtime playing on the and probably pretending I'm a ref, trying to be the funny guy.

You might know Ewan McGregor from Moulin Rouge, Trainspotting.

T2, which is Trainspotting 2.

By the way, he was in Trainspotting and Trainspotting 2.

Go figure.

We started this whole experience four weeks ago, wherever it was, watching Trainspotting, arguably one of the most popular films filmed in Edinburgh.

So it makes only sense that we bookend this whole experience by watching the sequel of Trainspotting, T2 Trainspotting, the 2017 Danny Boyle film starring the entire original cast.

Uh, cinematography by Anthony Dod Mantle, uh, who previously did Rush, Trainspotting Two, 28 Days Later, 28 Years Later, and a film that at one point I went, "This looks an awful lot like Slumdog Millionaire."

Oh, okay.

I saw something.

Danny Boyle?

Yeah.

Because Trainspotting Two was him as well, wasn't it, and the other ones.

Yep.
