Jets BLOW OUT Titans
J

David on Yamada was good.
J
15:19Joe BlewettHOST
Sweat was good.
J
15:20Joe BlewettHOST
Demario Davis looked fantastic in this game, taking on blockers on a dart run and then standing up the puller, making the tackle.
J
15:27Joe BlewettHOST
He filled it in on a duo run, made a tackle.

But a ridiculously good spin move there where he added that element to his game where, again, a lot of guys rush upfield and then they chopped outside arm and then spin but will mcdonald added the the element to his game last year where instead of just chopping the outside arm now he started to push their shoulder and kind of use like a quasi long arm and obviously right if you're pushing my outside shoulder and you're pushing with a long arm my hips are naturally going to follow my upper body so it turns you to the outside makes you susceptible to the inside when she hits so tight especially the really good um ice pick that he uses with that inside arm So, awesome job by Will McDonald.
J

I thought Onyemada looked explosive in this game.
J
53:21Joe BlewettHOST
Tavondre Sweat clogged up the middle.
J
53:23Joe BlewettHOST
He had that one rush where I think Bailey then got the pressure because of some... just because of some...

Titans Lose To Jets, EVERYONE IS TO BLAME! | Titans Post-Game
J
8:35JarrettHOST
That's fucking embarrassing at home.
J
8:37JarrettHOST
And you know what? As I'm watching some of this game, right, obviously the offensive line is just – it looked really bad when you had Sweat and Brownlee Jr.
J
8:45JarrettHOST
on there, and they're drawing the whole time because they kind of – you know, they won on the defense.
J
8:49JarrettHOST
But when you have a first-round tackle in Latham who got worked today again, right, who that's – this is supposed to – we're supposed to watch this offensive line For the next 17 games?
SPECIAL GUEST: Ian Eagle Breaks Down Jets UPGRADES on Defense in 2026
J
2:25John BHOST
So I'm going to list them one at a time and see whether you have the same view on it.
J
2:31John BHOST
I think one thing that seemed clear to me was they built this defense with the vision that they are not going to get pushed around in the run game, whether you're talking about the trade for Devondre Sweat Bringing back Demario Davis, even Minka Fitzpatrick, who can help in the run game.
J
2:46John BHOST
The two edge guys they brought in, Osai and Enigbare, are both guys who are pretty stout edge setters.
J
2:52John BHOST
So I think that there are lots of different aspects of this, the way they constructed this defense.
I
3:50Ian EagleGUEST
That's something that Aaron Glenn and every person on that defense recognizes has to be part of who they are and their DNA in this coming season.
I
4:01Ian EagleGUEST
But you're right.
I
4:03Ian EagleGUEST
On Yamada and Sweat and Inagbari, These are guys that are here for a reason.
I
4:12Ian EagleGUEST
You mentioned to Mario Davis, the leadership, the spirit in which he plays, the physical edge that he brings.

Skowronski vs.
M
22:17Matt MauroHOST
Sweat, I think, will probably cancel each other out.
M
22:19Matt MauroHOST
If not, give a little bit of advantage to Sweat, maybe.
M
22:24Matt MauroHOST
There's enough there that I think they should be able to.
M
22:30Matt MauroHOST
take them on and and neutralize them uh... right up front and if you can do that it will reverberate throughout the defense ours also in our secondaries looking a lot better uh... they're gonna have to get the ball out a lot quicker You know, if we can do that, then it's setting us up to kind of take advantage of mistakes, because there will be mistakes if we get constant pressure, if we are stuffing their runs and they have no run game and force them to throw the ball and we're able to pin our ears back and just go after them.
Jets at Titans Week 1 Final Preview
J
45:24Justin GraverHOST
Go.
J
45:24Justin MeloHOST
Cautiously optimistic, but I think to Vondre Sweat, Harrison Phillips, David, like these are really good run stoppers on the Jets interior.
J
45:31Justin MeloHOST
So while I'm cautiously optimistic, I'm not getting ahead of myself because I do realize this is a pretty good run stopping front for the Jets.
J
45:38Justin MeloHOST
At least it looks that way on paper.
Breaking Down the New York Jets | Football & Other F Words
Z
44:09Zach LyonsHOST
And so what's weird is that they, but they all think, okay, well, you have Aaron Glenn, who's been predominantly in a 4-3 defense, coaching a 4-3 defense, calling plays in a 4-3 defense.
Z
44:22Zach LyonsHOST
Suddenly in one summer has, in really one month, because if you think about it, he changed his mind before acquiring Tavondre Sweat for Jermaine or trading away Jermaine Johnson for Tavondre Sweat.
Z
44:36Zach LyonsHOST
He's, like, come up with this idea that he's going to go to a 3-4.
Z
44:39Zach LyonsHOST
Now, is this because maybe Mike Pettin, who he was assistant fits and backs coach under Cleveland back in, like, 2014 or 2015 did or whatever? I don't know.
S
46:11Stoney KeeleyHOST
Well, you shouldn't also, like if this is something that we've seen develop as recently as a month, you wouldn't go through an entire off-season cycle acquiring players for one scheme and then switching to the other unless you get into the summer and you're like, And these guys aren't built for
Z
46:27Zach LyonsHOST
this.
Z
46:27Zach LyonsHOST
Yeah, but that's usually the summer, right? He decided this before the Tavondre Sweat trade.
Z
46:34Zach LyonsHOST
That's why they did the Tavondre Sweat trade.
