Syrup Village

So first, um, do...

I- let's go through the end of the Orange Town stuff first, then we'll do the Gaimon stuff, then we'll do the Syrup Village stuff, which is Usopp's stuff.

So first, um, Joey, since you weren't on for the first two volumes, like, what were your thoughts and, like, reactions reading these chapters now?

Let's talk about the Syrup Village stuff, uh-

Like, Usopp's story on Elbaph is very good for him because, like, up to this point, the most we've seen his character growth is, of course, we see him in Syrup Village where he, uh, first learns to actually stand up for something even though he's terrified doing it.

Then in Arlong Park where he not only, uh, stands up and fights, but he also takes out one of, you know, the main bad guy's lead generals.

I was gonna say, it's a goldfish.

It's a giant goldfish, yep, which, fun fact, was the feature of one of Ussop's stories in Syrup Village.

Usopp would likely have remained in the...

in Syrup Village, continuing his life as a liar and prankster.

Without Luffy around, Usopp would never have found the courage to stand up to Captain Kuro and protect his village, and may have even lost his life when Kuro commenced his plans.

Sanji would have continued his life on the Baratie as a cook, and he wouldn't have ventured out into the world to search for the All Blue.

We know it as Romance Dawn, Shell's Town, Orange Town.

Then we go to Syrup Village.

But what happens here is you get the Romance.

Romance Dawn is the name of the first episode.

It's hard because I know, again, I don't hate the passion, but I do think if the goal is to get people to watch the live action and then eventually switch over, to give things away or rush things that have a bigger emotional impact later on is a little bit of a crime against

the law.

like you guys haven't seen it and i'm sure aphel would love to since usopp is his favorite character i think of this the first season of the live action syrup village is by far straight up just boring it doesn't have any any of that stuff that you want like earning usopp's character progression a little bit fighting on the beach all that stuff it's really it's closer to like a mystery in the mansion type of thing

So then, like, without building up that, you know, forgiveness for his idiosyncrasies and falling in love with him because of them and then inviting him to become a part of the crew, like, how does that – I'm going to watch it someday, but how does that progress? Like, how do they – Is there, with Usopp, to invite...

Yeah.

There aren't many people that are ranking Syrup Village above Last Place, because like I've said before, Syrup Village is not a bad arc.

It's just, you know.

If you're pitting it up against all the rest, it's the last.

It was Arlong Park that came in second place.

The last place was Syrup Village, but everyone making comments was like, I'm pretty sure everyone's putting Syrup Village as last because they think we're ranking arcs.
