Sylvester Turner

Downtown, Mr. Civic Pride, Mr. Civic Leadership.

And he chaired my campaign against Bill White, Sylvester Turner, and Orlando Sanchez.

Never forgotten that.

But he's been a friend and a mentor and just a lovely, wonderful, decent, upstanding.

Um, and she said that, you know, her-- Talarico's success among the Black voters will be, um, positively impacted if she does her, quote, "best to uplift them and increase the voter participation." Um, so those two congressional candidates that got her support were, uh, Representative Christian Menefee.

Um, so he's, of course, serving in, um, Congressional District 18 after Representative Sylvester Turner passed away, but he's running now for that first full term in office after he won that special election.

And then Congressman Colin Allred, who has been involved heavily in this whole conversation involving Crockett, Talarico, race, and the U.S. Senate.

Um, so he had dropped out of the Democratic primary for U.S. Senate last year, and then it was, like, the same day, I think, where he endorsed Crockett, um, and then now he's Democratic nominee for CD-33.

What are we doing? From 94 until she died a few years ago.

We did this with Sylvester Turner.

We did this with Rodney Ellis.

These people are robbing us blind.

We are here for the next two hours, Monday through Friday, 7 to 9 o'clock.

Wayne, how are you doing today, buddy?

Happy Monday morning.

I was in the urgent care.

And as a member of the media, even though I'm like a hired gun, apparently, you know, as a member of the media, I sort of get it.

You know, and I'll talk about something real quick locally.

When Sylvester Turner was mayor, my buddy Sylvester Turner, may he rest in peace.

When he was mayor, he would not give any of my people press credentials at City Hall.
