I think because Star Trek was on... kind of all the time in the or at least it felt like it was like I felt you were never too far away from Star Trek in the 90s I didn't really do all that much extended media the one thing I do remember though was the return the William Shatner novel where Kirk's brought back from the dead by the Borg and Scotty and Spock and McCoy all get involved, and it's the next-gen cast, and it's just this big first-contact Star Trek Generations sequel.
