You can see in Sylvester McCoy's performance how kind of panicky the Doctor is and how he's he is definitely here to address a problem.

And even though we don't know what it is, like we can sense that he's only barely keeping it together.

Like, ties back to Susan or whatever.

Like, the fact that he doesn't know even then, like, even for the new series.

Like, he doesn't know what's happened to her is... such a nice little thing and even in the middle of darkness there's some funny and sweet moments like I like the way that the doctor does that little bird noise thing with the babies which Sylvester McCoy really does I met him at a convention once and a few people in front of me in the line for signing one of the women had her baby with her and he did the thing there too so it's it's not just a doctor thing it's Sylvester McCoy does that when he needs babies it's Yeah, a nice touch to throw it into the doctor.

And, yeah, the doctor, not the doctor, the dynamic between Ace and her nan and the baby, her mum, is so well handled.

Then we see that Colin Baker and Sylvester McCoy are doing exactly the same thing.

And the one bit, it's later in the episode, the one bit that really had me in stitches was like where Colin Baker's at home and he goes, oh, I've got a parcel.

And it's an old DVD of him.

That is the caricature of Colin Baker I've got in my head.

Just brilliant.

So yeah, Sylvester McCoy is awaiting the call as well, but he's making The Hobbit.

Again, I just love the fact that he now looks down his nose at television.
