Sydney Royal Easter Show

This is Victoria's Young Auctioneer of the Year.

He will represent us at the Sydney Royal Easter Show next year to try and win that national title.

We, we have in Australia, we have the Royal Easter Show in Australia, in Sydney as well, and it's very s- by the sounds of it, it's very similar to what you, you guys are talking about as well.

You do have the rides, you have the different foods and stuff as well, but at the same time, this is still an agricultural sort of fair.

What I loved when I was a kid, um, and I don't think you guys have it here, but I'll, I'll check back in a minute, but they also have what they call, well, we call it crop art, whereby you go into an area and all you see is, like, these rows and rows up on the walls and, like, leaning on an angle up towards the walls, different artwork made with different produce.

Okay.

So in, in Australia, a Royal Easter Show, it, it sounds very similar, except we have one big area that's full of showbags, and when you go to the Royal Easter Show, everyone says to you, "Can you get me a showbag?" and a particular showbag.

Showbags are things that are branded, like, you know, Cadbury for instance, the chocolate maker.

It seems that they didn't do a particularly good job and the ship left the Tarthra Wharf without being properly balanced.

And because there'd been a strike for some time and because the ship was departing just before the Royal Agricultural Society show in Sydney was about to start, it was very heavily laden and very heavily laden with things like valuable cattle that were actually going to the Royal Easter Show.

Just three hours into the voyage, the captain noticed, and the passengers noticed, that the vessel was actually developing a quite considerable list, and so the captain ordered abandon ship.

At the time, the passengers were in bed, so most arrived on deck barefoot and in their night attire.

But the last two years has seen him have supervised attendance at home And actually supervised attendance outside the home as well.

The court heard that he's been to major events like Vivid and the Royal Easter Show.

He's currently being homeschooled and plans to enroll in a mainstream high school next year, potentially through remote learning, depending on what the court decides.

And it was cool because I got to bump into both of you at Sydney Royal for the New South Wales state finals.

Like it's something that it's so rewarding and you get so much out of it and just by sticking your hand out or, you know, being – shoved into it and you end up having the best time and it honestly has been the best time

Cassie you've just handed over your title at the Sydney Royal to Louisa Gilmore from Warrie Alder firstly what was that moment like for you and what do you want the most for her in this next year

It was fantastic.

46 years ago, Easter 1980.

Uh, in Easter in 1982, we had a very special guest at an outdoor broadcast at the Royal Easter Show, and it was Spike Milligan.

Spike, uh, turned up, uh, for a 10-minute chat and stayed for three hours.

It was an amazing conversation.

So I left in 2018 and we were in Sydney at the time.

We just finished, had a contract for the Sydney Royal Show.

So it was kind of cool because my last performance, I guess, was doing the Flying Trapeze in, what's GWS's home stadium there? NG? Is it where the showgrounds are in Sydney?
