My name is Gordon Goodenough.

And it happened, you know, they scored that goal less than a minute after we scored the opening goal.

But a very tightly fought first period led to, again, another very, very closely fought second period.

And it was another opportunity on the power play that the sydney bears had entering this game our power play percentage at home was one of the best in the league and uh running at about 38 and our power play percentage away from home was the worst in the league running at about 10 and we obviously scored one from one in the first period and we scored two from two at the second opportunity in the second period and it was brian chambers who was uh Johnny on the spot in the blue paint to put it home.

How did you guys see that second goal?

Yeah, it's actually some feedback we heard last year when we had our line players up from Sydney.

Obviously, there are things, Sydney Bears, so we had Ryan Annesley and Brian Funes come up from Sydney last year.

They said, yes, obviously, there's things Bears do one way, but there were little things that we did up here that they were really appreciative of and actually wanted to take back to Sydney with them.

So, yep, you're absolutely right.

You have your preliminary semifinals on Friday, straight semifinals yesterday, and then your final today, single-shot games.

Started with the Canberra Brave, CBR Brave, and the Sydney Bears.

The Brave with a 4-3 win over the Bears and the Sydney Ice Dogs with a 7-4 win over the Perth Thunder.

I have to be honest, I was surprised with both of these results.

So it's basically one and done, similar to NFL or NCAA Frozen Four.

So prelim final one tomorrow is the Canberra Brave and the Sydney Bears.

Three play six.

And then prelim final number two is the Perth Thunder and the Sydney Ice Dogs at seven o'clock.

We actually had a guy from the Vegas Golden Knights come out, one of their executives.

a couple of weeks ago to one of the games in the Sydney Bears.

And he was blown away by how much support there was for it and the sellout and how loud it was and everything.

And he was really impressed.
