How do you then continue this work amid increasing vilification, stigma, and even systematic criminalizations, especially from the state in the context of Indonesia, I guess?

Yeah, no, that's a very good question.

I ask myself that a lot, especially recently as the current president announces that LGBTQ community is the non you know announce it as a non-military but national threat right yeah i guess like it's i think it's really important to acknowledge that this is the reality that we're working within over the past decade we've seen increasing hostility towards lgbtq plus communities in indonesia even when policies don't directly affect every single queer person's daily life they create an atmosphere where people can feel less safe to speak, create, or simply exist to express ourselves.

And as a publisher, I don't think our role is to have all the answers to those problems.

But I do think that we have a responsibility to make sure these stories continue to exist and continue to circulate.

And one thing I care deeply about is that queer lives deserve to be documented in all their complexity.

We deserve stories that aren't only about violence or survival.
