J

And I played the two previous Baldur's Gates, but those games were less immersive than Baldur's Gate 3.
J
40:28JasonHOST
And Baldur's Gate 3 is so immersive in the setting of Faerun and the setting of the Sword Coast.
J
40:36JasonHOST
And like, you really do get to know like the geography and history of this world that it made the movie more fun for me on the second time around.
J
40:43JasonHOST
Cause I was like, Oh yeah.

Most of you have, have surely heard of the town, uh, no doubt.
E
33:24Eric WatsonHOST
Obviously one of the major, not as big as Waterdeep, but you know, more of a, a frontier, uh, city, but, uh, certainly one of the biggest, uh, cities along the Sword Coast still.
E
33:37Eric WatsonHOST
Uh, if you all wanted to do any shopping or anything in Neverwinter, uh, once you arrive, you can.
E
33:43Eric WatsonHOST
Um, mainly looking at just potion stocking, which I would probably limit you slightly more 'cause it's not as big of a city as, um, Waterdeep.
9 MINS LATER
E
42:35Eric WatsonHOST
Uh, yeah, you guys are in Neverwinter.
E
42:36Eric WatsonHOST
You've done some shopping.
E
42:38Eric WatsonHOST
Um, they, uh, yeah, you can hear all about the, uh, the attacks that happened, uh, we'll say nine months ago when the, when the siege of Neverwinter occurred and they were attacked from the Sword Coast by monstrous-

After Party LIVE! Episode 40
R
36:21Rick SandidgeHOST
That's just a sign that shows, you know, the various ways you can make potatoes.
R
36:25Rick SandidgeHOST
But they had a whole bunch of other stuff like wood burned signs and maps of Middle Earth or the Sword Coast and things like that.
R
36:33Rick SandidgeHOST
They have a whole bunch of like woodwork dice vaults or dice towers.
R
36:37Rick SandidgeHOST
Of course, that kind of their theme for a lot of things was... woodwork mimics.
Unforgetting the Forgotten Realms!
V

there you go
R
15:33Ross WatsonHOST
there he is there's that green one and and i want to be very very clear this here is my personal favorite version of the forgotten realms In this version of the Forgotten Realms, very little is defined outside of some things on the Sword Coast and the Dale Lands.
R
15:53Ross WatsonHOST
And there's a lot of gray space.
R
15:56Ross WatsonHOST
They call it the gray box for its color, but it also has a lot of just very basic descriptions of places and things.
R
17:09Ross WatsonHOST
That's right.
R
17:10Ross WatsonHOST
Cormyr was also in that book.
R
17:13Ross WatsonHOST
So if you want to talk about what is the core of the Forgotten Realms, it is the Sword Coast, it is Cormyr, it is Waterdeep, it is the Day of Lands, and it is Elminster.
R
17:23Ross WatsonHOST
All of those things are in that box.
Tavern Talk - Jason Eddy - Episode 22
M
34:16MikeHOST
So a lot of people from say have a very thick, like Russian German accent.
M
34:22MikeHOST
Whereas people on the Sword Coast have a bit of an American, sometimes English accent.
M
34:26MikeHOST
And then I try to have like more of a Nordic twang in the North.
M
34:30MikeHOST
But it's just like in my mind of just being able to know like, okay, what table am I at? Who am I playing? All that stuff to like set like a natural, you know, voice to everything.
Episode 13 - Fang You Very Much - Fleabags of Baldur's Gate

And there's a goose.
M
2:44MikeHOST
For those of you on stream who don't know, I produce a, it's in the, I should put it on the Discord, but there is a recap that I provide these fools, the Sword Coast Gazette, that has a mixture of both what had originally happened as well as some red herrings that you guys could potentially try and follow up on, or just silly stuff that I want to write.
M
3:15MikeHOST
post that on the Discord after this.
M
3:18MikeHOST
But yes, you guys leveled up to level 10.
16 MINS LATER
M
19:04MikeHOST
Ray is more of like a druid ranger, so it's more natural, magically enhanced like bark skin type of stuff, whereas Marcus Vale has like traditional armor, split nails, stuff like that that is enchanted.
M
19:21MikeHOST
But yeah, those are the things that you get from the base level.
M
19:24MikeHOST
In terms of what you can piece together with sneaking into tents as soldiers or other traders, there is a very clear black market happening all up and down the Sword Coast.
M
19:37MikeHOST
And that they've bought into it, they've been part of that from time immemorial.
Warlock Dungeons And Dragons Looks Cool!
S
25:09SethHOST
I like that they're making things.
S
25:10SethHOST
And quite frankly, I like stories on the Sword Coast.
S
25:17SethHOST
I like stories that are in the D&D universe.
S
25:19SethHOST
I don't know where this one particularly takes place, and I haven't really looked, but...
Welcome To: Dardanus

Primarily...
C
11:51Connor Van DykeGUEST
Primarily, I'd say it pulls a lot from just classic D&D, you know, the Sword Coast.
C
11:56Connor Van DykeGUEST
Yes,
O

naturally.
O

This is not party sleepover.
C
13:29Connor Van DykeGUEST
This is in fact, hunker in the bunker time.
C
13:34Connor Van DykeGUEST
make the most of it yeah exactly so i i bought this crappy little notebook i actually have it here um and i drew up the first ever concept for dardanus um and at that time it was a small little nation it was a small little piece of the world that i was like hey we could reasonably say this is somewhere off in the distance in the sword coast universe right um And it was just a small thing, a small campaign I ran with the elders because we were all locked inside and needed to make the most of our spare time.

This is my...
Friday … get out there and game. I think I might to reinvent the wheel.
M

If you lined them all up in front of me in the box sets and said, you can run one of these, I would pick Birthright every time, hands down, because it really is the one that interests me.
M
6:58Mark VHOST
the red steel setting for the Sword Coast kind of comes next but like that one would be but really the Birthright one is the one that always captured my attention because I thought it had some unique principles but I will say that I don't think they're the most clearly written like I don't you know they're it's not straightforward there's a lot that it tacks a whole other layer onto the game Which, unless the players are, A, invested in it, and B, take the time to actually...
M
7:30Mark VHOST
I don't know.
M
7:30Mark VHOST
I don't want to use the word engage with the system, but there's stuff to do there.
