Switched at Birth

I got dropped from Atlantic.

I wound up writing music for TV shows and films for 10 years, like Pretty Little Liars and Criminal Minds and Switched at Birth and McDonald's commercials, and I made a career out of that, and that was what I thought was gonna be, like, it for me, and I had a couple, my two first daughters at the time.

And then I wound up actually continuing to follow the breadcrumbs, and I, my whole world opened up so much more than I ever thought, and I started a podcast and wrote books and all that stuff.

But when I was first in LA, I didn't have a trust fund.

Yes.

Uh, on TV she was Caroline in the City, and she also, uh, went on to star in a TV show called Switched at Birth.

Uh, she's now directing-

Oh, yeah

Mm-hmm.

And the example I've used here many times is I did Switched at Birth, and I had to be a 17-year-old girl-

Absolutely.

It's really quite amazing because I was in my last year of school for interpreting and I ended up booking another job, switched at birth.

And that's, I think, now on Netflix and Amazon Prime, maybe one of those.

And I played a character who signed.

So I go out and do this, and I did a couple background roles.

Right before I left in 2016, I did a background role for ABC Switched at Birth.
