It was one of the first restaurants in LA to stay open past midnight, and it served lentil soup.

It is considered the precursor to L.A.'s later more famous Hollywood hotspot restaurant, shaped like a hat, that gets mentioned in the movie Swingers, the Brown Derby.

Bethy, are you money? I would like to think that I am money, but I think someone else has to tell me if I am.

Would you say that you are so money? I don't even know that.

Ska, but, like, even I'm like, you know, was it...

The Gap commercial, or was it Swingers that came first? Gap

commercial was, I think they were on the same time.

Because that sort of revival was going on, especially in LA and all that stuff.

Yeah, I mean, to be honest with you, you know, uh, the show starts with, with a loose idea from Mark Wahlberg about his friends.

And when him and his manager pitched it to me, I was like, "Who the fuck is gonna wanna watch that?" You know? And, um, for me, what made it what I was trying to do, like Swingers, which was a Hollywood show but was more about friendship and relationships, that was the key to me, to make that the forefront and Hollywood be the backdrop, you know? Whereas, you know, Action was a good show with Jay Mohr, but that was very like Hollywood-centric.

Um, same with like The Studio now.

Um, so this was really more about friendship, and Hollywood just happens to be the setting, you know?
