Most of the polyphenols and fiber is concentrated in the skin because the skin protects the plant.

And then in essence, when we eat sweet potatoes, we're essentially borrowing the plant's immune system And I'm just chopping them in half depending on how big the pieces are to make sure that they cook evenly.

You want to spread your sweet potato out so that they are evenly spread, nice and airy.

sweet potato recipes on Pinterest so kind of moving that addiction elsewhere yeah but with weddings too I tried not to get wrapped up in the group think of it or even like the trends or anything because I wanted to do exactly what I wanted to do for our wedding and not have it be a cookie cutter wedding or oh well traditionally we don't do this like I had giant screens at my wedding to play a video to walk down the aisle.

Dawn Jackson Blatner: The best time to enjoy your Halloween candy
D
4:20Dawn Jackson BlatnerGUEST
i'm making a halloween candy parfait and the win here is that it takes longer to eat you know because you're using a spoon and you're eating it great but also the protein in greek yogurt is out of this world you know it's one of the higher protein foods and so protein is a satisfying uh it's called a macronutrient protein is a satisfying food group and it allows you to eat the candy, taste it, feel like it's a fun party, but then actually kind of feel satisfied after you're done instead of just going for another one, another one, another one, another one.
J

You got a sweet potato idea for our listeners, Dawn?
D
4:58Dawn Jackson BlatnerGUEST
you know what when i sent this in i this is like a major bragging i'd like to give myself some sort of gold star for this because i feel like this is a new fabulous idea so here's what happened okay is i thought i really love sweet potatoes i think they're so good for you you know you look at the stats on all the goodness in there like potassium and fiber and beta carotene you know but Honestly, I wasn't eating them all that much because I sort of felt like they, you know, even in the air fryer were taking too long.
D
5:28Dawn Jackson BlatnerGUEST
And so I said, you know, I wonder what would happen if I made a bunch of sweet potatoes.
D
5:34Dawn Jackson BlatnerGUEST
So I bought this huge bag and I roasted half of them like I cut them in half and I roasted them.
D
5:41Dawn Jackson BlatnerGUEST
And then the other half I chopped up into cubes and I roasted them.
D
5:45Dawn Jackson BlatnerGUEST
So then I had all these sweet potatoes roasted and ready to go.
D

Yam.
E
46:04Enid GraceHOST
Okay, sweet potatoes are the ones we're most... familiar with they're they're used the most so they're part of the morning glory family that's their genus they are a tuber much like a yam is but they're just sweeter typically they are the bright orange kind of orange leading into red there are some white varieties i think when i was researching texas has a variety of white that are quite popular But they are traditionally sweeter.
E
46:30Enid GraceHOST
They are less starchier.
E
46:34Enid GraceHOST
And you can actually tell that if you were to boil a sweet potato, they boil much quicker and they have a lower starch content.

回顧星期天 Live Podcast直播 - 想吃吃不到的台灣美食(英語篇) What's your favorite Taiwanese snack/dish
D
36:06Don KaneAUDIENCE
Boba milk tea,
J
36:07JohnHOST
Yeah,you got it。That's right。 对,所以 YouTube 的——在 YouTube 上面呢可以 Google 这些,你会发现他们的发音就是 all over the place,就是很多种发音。 Yeah,thanks,Don。 Anybody? Hello,hi。 Hi,how you doing tonight? OK,you're doing good,perfect。所以雅惠,what's your favorite Taiwanese snack or dish? How would you—— 章鱼烧饭哦。 What would you recommend to me? OK,this is interesting。How would you introduce it to your foreign friends? Gosh,now this is biology,好像在上生物学课。 Octopus。 Yeah,O-C-T-O-P-U-S,octopus。 Ball。 So 章鱼烧,what do you think it is?What would you call it? Uh。 Octopus。 Octopus。 Balls。 Balls。 Yeah,就这样。 Oh,yeah。 Fried。 So,yeah,so,所以我们章鱼烧,how would you call it? Fried octopus—— Octopus。 ......octopus balls。 Very good。 But let me tell you something,它不是这样子叫的,这样子叫日本人会抓狂。 [笑]Takoyaki? 对,there we go,you got it。所以呢—— Yeah,I got it。 ......因为它是从,它是从日本来的,所以如果我们叫:“Hey,this is fried octopus balls。”哇,那个日本人说“No,no,no,no,no,no,takoyaki please。 So fried octopus balls,no problem。But again,I think the Japanese people would prefer you to call it takoyaki。 Yeah。 Yeah。 OK。 Taiwanese snack or dish that you recommend? Oh,very nice。 OK,good。 Right? Yeah。 But now we've got to figure out what is 地瓜 in English。 Potato,yeah。 You got it!Oh,you're such a genius。 So—— Yeah。 ......地瓜呢,其实我们——in general we call it sweet potato,那地瓜球就变成 sweet potato。 Sweet potato balls。 Balls,yeah,you got it。 Yam。 Yam。 Y-A-M。 Yam balls。 OK。 OK。 I hope that helps。I hope you learned something。Glad to have you。 Thank you。 OK,thank you。 Yeah,thank you,thanks 雅惠。 Thank you,bye bye。 Bye。 Anybody else? Oh,maybe not。 有——most of the foreigners,they either love it or they hate it,就是他们要么就是很痛恨这个东西,那个闻起来就是很可怕,要不然就是超级爱这个东西的吼。 Deep fried or fried fermented tofu,发酵过后的豆腐。 So stinky tofu not, not a problem,I would call it deep fried fermented tofu。 And 还有...... OK,so shaved ice with mango or mango on shaved ice That's it,nothing else。 I see Don Kane my friend is still here。 呃......but let's call it a day after this one。 Don Kane,what do you think?
D
47:21Don KaneAUDIENCE
J
47:25JohnHOST
Taiwanese sausage,that's right!
