Sweet Magnolias

It's really bad that I'm sitting here.

So sorry, I was about to call it Steel Magnolias.

I'm like, that's not the name of the show.

Sweet Magnolias was not renewed for a new season.

And honestly, the way it ended, it makes me sad because I'm like, there's so many open ended things.

I really wanted to get picked up and like or get a green light, a movie to close everything out.

And if you want Halloween in America with genuine Southern Gothic atmosphere and of course, world-class food alongside the ghost stories, well, now I know all about Charleston.

In fact, I fell in love with it so much that even though Sweet Magnolias got its death wish this year-- uh, maybe death wish is the wrong-- It got the death guillotine.

What I'm trying to say is it wasn't renewed for another season, and we will all just have to believe that they all live happily ever after.

They went to Charleston for a bachelorette party, and Charleston is now on the set jetting slate for twenty twenty-eight.

think of is Steel Magnolias, which is a movie, and it's brilliant with Tony Barton.

But this is Sweet Magnolias.

Is it? Yeah.

Oh, my God.

It was so bad.

It...

Yeah, Sweet Magnolias on Netflix.

I watched a bit of the first series with you and I was like, oh, this is cheesy.

And first up in renewal, cancellation news.

because something's always been renewed or cancelled, Hannah Waddingham and Octavia Spencer's action comedy series Ride or Die has been cancelled by Prime Video after one season, as has Sweet Magnolias by Netflix after five seasons.

In Better News Canadian YA series, Crew Girl has been greenlit for a second season, while Daredevil Born Again, having just wrapped its third season, has been told that that was in fact its last.

What's intriguing here is that Marvel and Disney had quietly removed the showrunner for the show, even though post-production for this final season is still incomplete.

The film follows a high school cheerleader born into a family of zombie hunters who must use that legacy to save her school from a horde of zombies.

Sweet Magnolias has been cancelled by Netflix after five seasons.

So, I didn't even know that was still on, by the way.

But even though that has been cancelled...

N- I'm not crying over that going, to be honest.

Over on Netflix, Netflix have canceled Sweet Magnolias after five seasons.

They have, however, ordered a new Sheryl J. Anderson and Joanna Garcia Swisher series called Ladies of the House.

So those are the two creators, I think, of Sweet Magnolias, and they've basically said, "We're canceling that show, but you can adapt this other thing." [laughs] I, I mean, I, I don't know the reason for that, whether they just decided it was getting too expensive or whatever it is as well.

So, uh, the new show called Ladies of the House, when the charismatic owner of a winery dies unexpectedly, his wife and two adult daughters must battle through their issues with each other in order to confront challenges with the business, their extended family, and the men in their lives.

Good friends and good wine will aid in the journey to hang on to the winery, but what matters most is that they find a way to hang on to each other.

So that's the strap line for Ladies of the House.

So that will be coming from the same people that made Sweet Magnolias, but Sweet Magnolias itself has been canned after five seasons.
