Suzume

cocktail hell yeah you're drinking White Claws but as the night goes on you switch to green tea and honey because you have a very prestigious voice acting gig the next day you voice who would you voice?

Suzume in Suzume 2.

Oh, shit.

Yeah.

Okay.

Other than the Ghibli movies, Your Name and Suzume, which do hold a pretty tight stranglehold on a lot of those spots.

You know, it is one of the higher shonen properties on that list.

I believe it was like number five.

Alrighty, our fellow shippers, it's time to talk about today's couple.

Sota Munakata and Suzume Iwato.

Or just Sota and Suzume because I am not going to look up these last names or first names again from the movie Suzume.

With their looks, they actually have similar looks.

Maybe I need to rewatch it, but it was a good time.

We also have Evil Dead Rise, Suzume, don't know what that is, and John Wick Chapter 4.

Suzume is an anime movie.

So it's not a

real

It's made by the same guy that made Your Name, 20 centimeters a second.

I've never heard of this, but I have heard of Your Name.

There's a giant worm in Suzume.

And I think basically those are the disclaimers for this one.

So Five Centimeters Per Second is, first the stats, bro, obviously, is a movie created by Makoto Shinkai, also known as the author or the creator of what would eventually be Kimi no Na wa, Weathering With You, and Suzume.

And done by the studio CoMix Wave, which in and of itself already says a bit because it is more or less the same crew that did, again, Kimi no Na wa, Suzume, and Weathering With You.

But, uh, the one, I think the main difference is that this came out in March twenty- [laughs] two thousand and seven, also known as nearly twenty years ago.

Now, is this review going to be just me, uh, harping on about a twenty-year-old movie? Um, kind of, because a- as I will talk more about later, I don't really like this movie, but let's get to the, to the plot first.

And again, being boring as it is, and the, the fact that he talks a whole lot of b- rubbish by the middle of it, oh, my fucking God, man.

Do I really need to watch this? Like, holy shit.

And then, uh, I have to take a step back and actually remind you that, uh, this was created by the same guy who would end up making Kimi no Na wa, Weathering With You, and Suzume, which in of itself, I think I mentioned when I talked about Kimi no Na wa.

those can be useful.

We saw those in Suzume.

Those can be helpful there.

Do you guys have those in California?

No!

Voices of a Distant Star, The Place Promised in Our Early Days, Five Centimeters Per Second, No! Voices, Garden of Words, Your Name, Weathering With You, and Suzume.

I was thinking about the voice actor, I think.

Yeah, you were thinking of someone different.
