7 MINS LATER

Matt ReevesGUEST

Fulton County last year improved the senior homestead exemption, Cobb County and Forsyth County have a good one.
Matt ReevesGUEST
7:27
Many other counties do around Metro Atlanta, but Gwinnett is way behind on the senior exemption.
Matt ReevesGUEST
7:32
And I hear a lot about that from residents of mine in Sugarloaf, Duluth, Suwannee and Sugar Hill.
Matt ReevesGUEST
7:39
But here's a good idea from Gwinnett, not only improve the senior exemption like they've done in Fulton recently, but make it portable, make the value offset exemption portable because you've got a lot of seniors and, uh, areas in Gwinnett like Parkview, Brookwood, Collins Hill, who after they raised their kids, they stayed in the big house that they raised their kids in with, you know, three or four or five bedrooms because they get good tax treatment on the value offset exemption because it keeps that purchase price for back in the 90s or 20 years ago.
