From a pelvic floor standpoint, is early ejaculation most often a muscle problem, a pelvic floor that's too tight or overactive, rather than a mental one? And if it is, how would someone even tell the difference?
19:44
Such a good question.
19:45
How would someone tell the difference? Like muscle problem versus nervous system, mental health problem related to early ejaculation or really, you know, even delayed ejaculation if we're talking about that.
19:58
So muscles and nerves of the pelvis may play a role in certain reflexive physiological responses.
20:07
So what do I mean by that? Pelvic floor muscles, so the muscles that sit in between your butt bones, you have a superficial layer that intimately connects with the genitals, so at the base of the penis, and then you have a deeper layer that is supporting all of the organs on the inside, right? So bladder, prostate, and rectum.
20:27
and they do function in concert with certain sexual functions.
20:33
When we're talking about ejaculatory function it's an involuntary so non-voluntary contract relax contract relax contract relax propulsion of semen out of the body so these muscles do rhythmically and involuntarily contract and relax contract and relax to help move semen out of the body during ejaculation and muscles support that function But really, it's the nerves that communicate with those muscles that are guiding what's happening.
25:09
So the first step to that
